SummaryThe County Commissioners of Charles County are hereby requesting bids from qualified contractors to furnish all labor, supervision, material, tools, and equipment necessary to perform grounds maintenance services at 100 plus Department of Public Works/Utilities sites throughout Charles County, Maryland.
BackgroundAt many of the pump stations and treatment plants, there will be obstacles and construction being conducted. Treating water is a sensitive matter. Brushings are to be blown away from buildings and equipment. Landscaping will handle routine maintenance every two to three weeks (as needed) from April through November. That will include regular mowing to a consistent height, precise edging along walkways and beds, plus spot weeding to stop overgrowth before it starts. After every mowing session, there should be no stray clippings, twigs, leaves scattered around or trash. The contractor will be expected to clean up all debris from the mowed areas, bag it neatly, and haul it off-site so nothing's left behind. As part of the routine, the contractor will spray herbicide at every well site and pump station where grass is growing through gravel, and in all parking lots and any other areas needed like fences or driveways. This will be done on an as-needed basis.
