RE: ADDENDUM #2, BID NO. 20260297, HURRICANE IAN PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT

Bidders are hereby notified that this addendum shall be made a part of the above-named proposal and contract documents.

The following is issued to modify, and/or clarify the proposal and contract documents. These items shall have the same force and

effect as the original bid and contract documents, and bids to be submitted on the specified date shall conform with the additions,

deletions and revisions as listed herein.

ITEM #1

QUESTIONS/ANSWERS:

Q1: For Kiwanis Park, do you want an apples to apples replacement playground design to replace the current

damaged structure? Or does the County just want something similar that will meet the minimum play events

required?

A1: The County wants something similar that meets the count of equipment types listed in the bid.

Q2: For Rotonda Park, the scope of work on page 18 states that the replacement components include a swing

set and galvanized steel posts and safety rails. The photos included do not depict either of these items. Do you

have photos of the swing set and steel posts/safety rails that need to be replaced?

A2: No, it should be included in the original sales docs attached.

Q3: Since the photos of the shade structure and welcome sign are included in the RFB documents, is it safe to

assume that you are wanting those replaced as well?

A3: No shade or welcome signs are included in this project.

Q4: Is the awarded contractor responsible for removing and disposing of the existing damaged playground

equipment? If so, do we need to provide a dumpster on site or will the County?

A4: All damaged equipment at Kiwanis has been removed. The Contractor will be responsible for

removal at Rotonda and the Contractor will need to provide a dumpster.

Q5: Please confirm the location for the playground at Larry Kiwanis Park. There is an open area at 26°59'03.1"N

82°07'57.9"W with a dead ended sidewalk extension south of the two existing playgrounds. Is this the intended

location? If so, the ground is not level. Is it the intent to follow the existing contour or to level the playground

area? If leveling is intended, please provide direction how areas outside the curbing are to be handled. If the

existing contour is to remain will the poured rubber surface and curbing follow the contour?

A5: Yes, that is the intended location. The play area needs to leveled enough that the cubing/surfacing

will meet the existing sidewalk and be level.

Q6: At Larry Kiwanis Park, verify if an existing playground was in the location intended for the new playground. If

so, please confirm all previous equipment were removed completely and, in their entirety.

A6: Yes, a playground was in that location. Yes, all removed including footers.

Q7: Please provide a location for the “Exercise Station” with step up pedestals (complete unit) to include

directional signage.

A7: Please refer to Addendum 1.

Q8: Is the intent of item B.1.a to replace the existing inverted u-shaped end post as well as the pipe rail damaged

by the tree?

A8: Yes.

Q9: Item B.2. calls for replacing a galvanized steel post and safety rail shown in attached pictures. Nothing is

identified like this in the pictures provided.

A9: Please refer to the attached document.

Q10: While not referenced in the scope of work, a shade structure is identified in the pictures. Please confirm

this is to be replaced. And if so, please provide an intended layout.

A10: No shade structures are included in this project.

Q11: While not referenced in the scope of work, a fractured aluminum sign frame is shown in the

pictures. Please confirm this bracket is intended to be replaced. If so, please note two signs exist with same

damaged frame piece.

A11: Signs were covered under warranty and no longer need replacement.

Q12: Please confirm shade structure elements previously removed were removed completely and in their entirety

with no aspects of their construction remaining beyond the one existing column.

A12: No shade structures are included in this project.

Q13: Assuming the shade structure is intended to be replaced, will the playground be closed by the County for

this work as it appears it’s intended to cover most of the existing play structures.

A13: Not applicable.

Q14: Will the Owner require 6’ chain link temporary fence to segregate the work zone?

A14: No, just temporary orange construction fencing around the area to be secured and maintained by

the Contractor.

Q15: Is storage permitted onsite?

A15: Yes, a dedicated space for project storage can be provided.

This addendum is binding and is to be considered as if contained within the original bid documents of Bid No. 20260297. Bidders

are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum on their bid forms.
