Bid Title:	Salt and Sand Storage Building Bid

Description: The City of Independence, Kansas, is accepting sealed bids for the construction and installation of a Salt and Sand Storage Building. Bids must be submitted to the Office of the City Clerk, 120 N. 6th Street, Independence, Kansas 67301, on or before 2:00 p.m., March 19, 2026. Bids shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope clearly marked on the outside “Salt and Sand Storage Building Bid.” If a bid is mailed, the original envelope shall be enclosed in a separate envelope addressed to the City Clerk and marked as stated above. E-mail or fax bids will not be accepted. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. The apparent low bidder will be evaluated for responsiveness and responsibility and presented to the Independence City Commission for formal action. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 2pm, February 25 at the project site, 2143 Enterprise Drive, Independence, Kansas. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive informalities or irregularities, and to accept the bid deemed most favorable to the City. No bidder may withdraw a bid for a period of forty-five (45) days after the date and time set for bid opening.
