Project DescriptionRenovate Sinclair Community College’s Building 8 Fieldhouse for the Integrated Technology Education Center (ITEC), toestablish a flexible, centralized hub for technology and innovation on the Dayton Campus. This project will include therenovation of 36,000 SF existing space, plus the addition of a new mezzanine level comprising between 5,000 SF and15,000 SF of new floor space. New construction will include an entrance lobby at the south end of building with drive &parking adjacent to Fourth Street at Robert Drive. The facility will feature modern technology laboratories and is expectedto support over 7,500 students annually. The initiative aims to centralize learning and research across multiple disciplinesfor the convergence of Information Technology (IT), Cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). It is designed to preparestudents across all academic divisions for a workforce where these technologies are fundamental tools.The new space and all new construction shall meet Sinclair standards for structure, finishes, lighting, etc. with newfeatures and aesthetics being applied. This new Center shall include a data center, student-run SNOC (Security NetworkOperations Center), space for offices, hoteling, multifunction workstations, think tank, maker spaces, workforce partnerspaces, conferences rooms, lounge, flex, and program storage.The selected design team will serve as Architect/Engineer (A/E), and shall have extensive experience in State of Ohiopublic Design-Bid-Build (DBB) projects. A/E shall be familiar with all methods and procedures for executing Ohio publicDBB projects, and will conduct programming (POR) and concept development with Sinclair staff, provide designdocuments, arrange for bidding, provide construction administration of project on Owner’s behalf, and shall have broadexperience related to general building renovation construction.A/E shall provide interior design services including all finish selections, samples & presentations for approval, as well asfurniture selection, layout & design with separate by-invitation furniture bid package. A/E shall include concept design forsignage and displays to be included in project under scope of General Contractor. A/E shall utilize an acoustic engineeror consultant to eliminate any noise and disruption between spaces. Important elements in the A/E selection process willbe experience in ensuring protection of building interiors and surrounding campus property as well as mitigatingdisruptions to students, visitors and staff.The firms must have experience in the complete design and monitoring of the work to be performed, to ensure workmeets all codes and requirements, and to ensure subsequent warranties.
