Town of Merrimack,New Hampshire6 Baboosic Lake Rd · Merrimack, NH 03054 · www.merrimacknh.govJanuary 30, 2026REQUEST FOR PROPOSALTown Hall Lower Level UpgradeSealed proposals will be received by the Town of Merrimack until 2:00 pm on Friday, February27, 2026 for repairs the Town Hall stairs where go down to lower level according to the enclosedspecifications and following conditions.Time and effort spent for bid preparation is the responsibility of the bidder. The act of submittinga bid is considered to be full acknowledgement that the bidder has inspected the sites and is familiarwith the conditions. A mandatory walk through is scheduled for Friday, February 13, 2026 at10:00 am at the Town Hall, 6 Baboosic Lake Rd, Lower Level Parking Lot, Merrimack, NH.All work shall be performed in accordance with the NH State Building Code. The Town reservesthe right to reject any or all proposals, to waive irregularities in the proposals, and to accept theproposal which best serves the interest of the Town.The proposals shall include a detailed outline of the scope of work similar to but not limited to theone as below, a total cost included on the enclosed Bid Form and a listing of significant materialsto be provided and significant tasks to be performed. Two copies of the proposal must besubmitted.The proposal shall include, at a minimum, the following elements in the scope of work:Part 1 (Stairs Repair) -• Reinforce the structure by adding steel hanger to support for the floor joists to improve thesettled wood frame landing and stair stringers.• Reinforce the supporting structure to improve the settled cross beam landing frames.• Install drywalls on walls, ceilings and landing for the enclosed space under the stairs.• Improve the handrail and guardrail system including installing a graspable handrail tocomply with the current building code standards.Part 2 (Soundproof insulation installation) –• Remove the door and frame between Women’s Bathroom and DPW Engineer’s Office• Add new layers of dry wall for soundproofing between H.C. Bathroom and Buildings&Grounds/Intern’s Office, between Buildings &Grounds/Intern’s Office and Women’sBathroom and between Women’s bathroom and DPW Engineer’s Office.• Extend above ceiling between Women’s Bathroom and DPW Engineer’s Office.• Install baseboard molding to match the design or pattern on the existing baseboard.• Repair any damagesAll work and materials must satisfy applicable industry standards, building codes, andmanufacturer’s warranty requirements. Any fees relating to licenses, permits and inspections that are obtained from the Townof Merrimack will be waived.If, in the bidder’s opinion, any aspect of the above specifications is either inadequate orunnecessary, please bid as closely as possible to the specifications and provide an alternate bidreflecting recommended modifications.The proposal shall be submitted on the Bid Form furnished herewith and shall exclude state andfederal taxes not applicable to municipalities. The bid price shall be quoted F.O.B. Town ofMerrimack Town Hall, located at 6 Baboosic Lake Rd, Merrimack, NH and shall include all laborand materials that are required for a complete repairs, including removal of related debris.The contractor will be required to provide an insurance certificate confirming the followinginsurance coverage: worker’s compensation insurance as required by the State of New Hampshire;broad-form comprehensive general liability insurance in an amount no less than $1,000,000combined single limit per occurrence; and motor vehicle insurance to include bodily injury,property damage, uninsured motorist, and employer’s non-ownership coverage in an amount noless than $1,000,000 combined single limit per occurrence. The Town of Merrimack shall benamed as an additional insured on all policies.The contractor must also agree in writing to indemnify the Town of Merrimack from any and allliability, loss or damage, including but not limited to bodily injury, illness, death, or propertydamage, which the Town becomes legally obligated to pay as a result of claims, demands, costs,or judgment against the Town arising out of the contractor’s actions or omissions relating to thisproject.The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities in the bids, and toaccept the bid which best serves the interest of the Town.Two copies of the proposal must be sealed and marked “Bid on Town Hall Lower Level Upgrade”and be delivered to the Town of Merrimack Finance Department, 6 Baboosic Lake Rd, Merrimack,NH 03054 by the time specified above when they will be read aloud at 6 Baboosic Lake Road EastWing of Town Hall - Lower Level Community Development Conference Room.It is the bidder’s responsibility to confirm the bid is received by the Finance Department by thedate and time specified.The Town of Merrimack’s Purchasing Policy is available on the Town’s website:https://www.merrimacknh.gov/finance-department/pages/bid-opportunities; a copy may contactthe Purchasing Agent.
