SummaryThe City of Pasadena's Public Works Department, Building Systems & Fleet Management Division (BSFMD), is soliciting bids for the purchase and delivery of three Chevrolet Silverado EV's for the City's Parks, Recreation, and Community Services (PRCS) Department.
The City maintains a diverse fleet of light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles moving to reliable and proven zero emission vehicles (ZEVs) where operationally prudent.
BackgroundThe City of Pasadena, an ethnically diverse community with approximately 142,017 residents, is the ninth-largest in Los Angeles County. It covers 22.5 square miles and has a median age of 36.9 years. With over 100,000 jobs in various industries, Pasadena is a key cultural center in the San Gabriel Valley.
The Public Works Department manages a fleet of roughly 800 vehicles. Current challenges include supply chain constraints affecting vehicle availability and shifting manufacturer order schedules. This solicitation is for the purchase of new vehicles, and the selected vendor must demonstrate flexibility in navigating potential delays, provide competitive pricing, and remain responsive to the City’s operational needs.
At this time, the City of Pasadena intends to move forward with the immediate purchase of three Chevrolet Silverado EVs.
