SummaryBeaufort County intends to solicit proposals for a qualified Aviation Fuel Service Supplier to provide aviation grade fuel, aviation grade oil and lubricants and associated equipment along with related services, software and incentives to Beaufort Executive Airport (KARW) located at 39 Airport Circle, Beaufort SC.
BackgroundBeaufort Executive Airport is owned and operated by Beaufort County. It is a General Aviation airport located 3 miles southeast of downtown Beaufort, SC. A 3,430-foot runway and 22,800 square yards of ramp space compliment 52 aircraft tie down points and 34 nested T hangars. Currently, Beaufort County operates as the Fixed Base Operator and sells approximately 70,000 gallons of AvGas and 90,000 gallons of Jet A aviation fuel per year. Located on the airport are two 25 to 30 year-old, 12,000-gallon fuel tanks. Fuel is dispensed via a self-service pump (AvGas only), or via full-service trucks - a 1200-gallon AvGas re-fuel truck and a 2200-gallon Jet A re-fuel truck.
The current Aviation Fuel Supplier (Campbell Aviation) is a Phillips 66 branded company that leases both refueling trucks to the airport. The contract will expire on June 30, 2026.
