CHARLES, MISSOURI 63301ROAD WORKNOTICE TO CONTRACTORSInvitation for Formal Bid 26-006Notice is hereby given that the St. Charles County Highway Department will receive sealed bids for concretepavement removal and replacement on various County arterial roads at the office of the Finance Director in theCounty Administration Building, 201 North Second Street, Room 541, St. Charles, Missouri, until 10:00 a.m. onThursday January 29, 2026, at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read in Room 116 of the CountyAdministration Building.All St Charles County bids will be received and opened on the first floor of the St CharlesCounty Administrative Building, 201 North Second Street, Room 116, St. Charles, Missouri63301. Sealed Bids for IFB 26-006 Concrete Removal and Replacement 2026 Arterial on CountyRoads will be received until 10:00 A.M. (prevailing Central Time) on Thursday, January 29, 2026.The bid will be opened publicly at 10:00 AM in Room 116. It is highly recommended that you mailor have your bid delivered via UPS, FedEx, courier, etc., with plenty of time to arrive prior to the dayof the bid opening. If your bid is dropped off prior to the opening there will be someone in the lobbyto receive it.The project shall include all work incidental for removal and replacement of approximately 11,895 square yardsof concrete slabs on various arterial roads throughout the County. Method of payment will be per square yard for removaland replacement of concrete, per cubic yard for removal and replacement of unsuitable material, per lineal foot for 6 inchvertical curb, per square foot for sidewalk and detectable warning panel, and lump sum for portable temporary trafficcontrol signal. Mobilization, ALL saw cutting, traffic control, site clean up, and any base rock needed to reshape the basewill be considered incidental to the project, no direct payment will be made.The successful bidder shall be required to comply with the State Statutory Provisions concerning the payment ofprevailing wages on public works, Section 290.210 through 290.340 R.S. MO 1959, as amended 1969 and shall pay to allworkmen performing work under this contract not less than the prevailing hourly rate of wages determined by theDepartment of Labor and Industrial Relation of the State of Missouri. The wage rates applicable to this project have beenpredetermined as required by law and are set forth in this document.Missouri Annual Wage Order 32 as amended June 26, 2025 shall be in effect for this project.The bid proposal shall be made on a form provided by the County, delivered in a sealed envelope, and depositedin the office of the Finance Director on or before the time specified above. The proposal shall be accompanied by bidbond, cashier's check or certified check for an amount not less than five percent of the bid amount. The amount of thecheck or bid bond shall be forfeited to the County upon failure or refusal of the successful bidder to enter into a contract orto furnish bond after his proposal has been accepted.The County reserves the right to require the successful bidder to file proof of his ability to properly execute theproject together with his record of successful completion of similar projects. The County reserves the right to reject anyand all bids or proposals submitted, or to advertise for new bids. The County reserves the right to defer the acceptance ofany proposal and the execution of a contract for a period not exceeding forty five (45) days after the date of opening of thebids. The successful bidder to whom the contract has been awarded shall sign and return the contract and other requiredcertificates and documents in quadruplicate within ten (10) days after the date of the receipt of the award of the contract.The successful bidder shall file certificates with the County that he has obtained and will continue to carry workmen'scompensation insurance, public and private liability and property damage insurance and builders risk insurance in thespecified amounts for the duration of the contract.The contractor shall not commence work prior to the date of written notice from the County Engineer to beginwork and shall complete all work before August 21, 2026.
