Description: REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS (RFQ) Newton Public Library Furnaces Replacement & Installation The City of Newton, Iowa is seeking competitive quotations for the construction of the public improvement hereafter described.   Contractors qualified to perform the work and able to obtain the required performance and payment bond are invited to submit competitive quotations, pursuant to the requirements of Section 26.14 of the Iowa Code. 1.         Newton Public Library Heater Replacement and Installation. The public improvement work for which the City is seeking competitive quotations is generally described as follows: Purchase and install new Reznor Heaters or approved equivalent meeting attached specifications for the Newton Public Library located at 100 N 3 rd Ave W., Newton Iowa. The Furnaces will heat 18,000 square feet. An add alternate for a 2-year service contract is requested. 2.         Plans and Specifications. Plans and specifications for construction of said public improvement are available for inspection in the office of the Library Director. 3.         Site Visit. Interested contractors are further advised that a site visit may be arranged by contacting Nicole Terry, Library Director at the Newton Public Library via phone at 641-792-4108 or by email, For security reasons, you must enable JavaScript to view this E-mail address. . 4.         Time, Place and Manner for Filing Competitive Quotations. a.         Competitive quotations to construct the public improvement work described above shall be filed in the office of the Library Director, 100 N 3rd Ave W , on or before 3:00pm on Tuesday, January 21st, 2025. b.         Competitive quotations shall be filed with the Library Director by – (1) placing them in the United States Mail, appropriately stamped and addressed to the Library Director’s office at the City of Newton, 100 N 3rd Ave W, PO Box 746, Newton, IA 50208; (2) filing them in person / in hand at the office of the Library Director at the address listed above; (3) e-mailing them as an e-mail attachment, addressed  to the Library Director, e-mail address, For security reasons, you must enable JavaScript to view this E-mail address. . c.         If a competitive quotation is delivered by U.S. Mail or by in-hand delivery, it shall be placed in a sealed envelope addressed to the Library Director at the address stated above.  Competitive quotations received after the time stated above will not be considered and the quoting contractor will be so notified.
