NOTICE TO BIDDERS

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN sealed bids will be received by the City of McFarland (Agency) at its office, 401 W. Kern Ave., McFarland, CA, 93250, until 2:00 p.m. on November 20, 2025, for furnishing the work described in the contract documents. Bids will then be transported to and publicly opened at the McFarland Community Center and read aloud. Bids received after the time announced for the opening will not be considered and will be returned, unopened, to the bidder. Said bids shall conform to and be responsive to the Specifications and Contract Documents for the work as heretofore approved by the Agency.

WORK DESCRIPTION: The work to be done consists in general of but is not limited to The construction of New approx. 11,554 SQ. FT Single-Story Pre-Engineered Metal Building located on the south west corner of parcel 1 of APN: 201-070-64. The new building will accommodate the Mcfarland Police Department staff, function as a temporary emergency operation center, and include a community center to serve the public. It will be designed as an essential services building. The main portion of the structure will be a Pre-Engineered Metal Building with insulated metal panels, while the rest of the structure will consist of concrete masonry unit, including temporary holding cells. The site includes a secured parking lot for the Mcfarland Police Department's staff and public parking located off Taylor street. Note: Only the Pre-Engineered Metal Building in its entirety(Architectural Alternate Bid) and the Site work will be bid and awarded. The detention portion is only shown for reference and coordination and will be bid out in a separate phase.

The contractor shall possess a Class B license at the time this contract is awarded. The Awarded Contractor must also obtain a Business License from the City of McFarland before commencing work.

OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: The contract documents are entitled “City of McFarland Police Department.” All contract documents, plans, and specifications must be obtained from the City’s Public Works Department by written Request or by electrical download at no cost, from the City of McFarland's Website: https://www.mcfarlandcity.org/bids.aspx Plans and specifications will be available on October 31st, 2025, for electronic download. Upon written request for the electronic bid documents, The City of McFarland will add the contractor to the Registered Plan Holders List.

PRE-BID MEETING: A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for December 10, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the Community Center located at 103 W. Sherwood Ave., McFarland, CA 93250. This meeting is to inform bidders of project requirements and subcontractors of subcontracting and material supply opportunities. Bidders in attendance will also have an opportunity to walk the jobsite after the pre-bid meeting. Bidders’ attendance at this meeting is not mandatory.
