SummaryThe City of Pasadena Planning & Community Development Department, Building and Safety Division is seeking the services of qualified professional consulting firms to submit proposals to provide on-call plan review and supplemental services for public and private projects. The successful Consultant will be responsible for conducting plan reviews related to development review in compliance with the California Building Standard Codes, Pasadena Municipal Code, California Fire Code and all other State, local, and applicable laws. The consultant must have significant experience in building construction and building codes, high quality plan review services, and the ability to meet plan review turnaround times.
BackgroundThe City of Pasadena is an ethnically diverse community that is home to approximately 141,029 people. Pasadena is the ninth-largest city in Los Angeles County. It is one of the primary cultural centers of the San Gabriel Valley. The City covers approximately 22.5 square miles, with an average of ten residents per acre. The median age of its residents is approximately 36.9 years. There are over 100,000 jobs in a wide variety of industries in the City of Pasadena.
The City has traditionally contracted with outside consultants to augment internal staff resources to meet the turnaround times for plan reviews, in the most effective manner possible. The City adopted plan check deadlines for development projects, which are not to exceed four (4) weeks for large projects and two (2) weeks for medium projects.
