Bid Title:	Chatham Fish Pier - South Jog Pedestrian Walkway

Description: REQUEST FOR WRITTEN BIDS The Town of Chatham is soliciting written bids pursuant to the provisions of G.L. c. 30, §39M for the Chatham Fish Pier – South Jog Pedestrian Walkway Project, located at the Chatham Fish Pier, 45 Barcliff Avenue Ext, Chatham, MA 02633. The project generally consists of the installation of a 79’ long pile supported concrete pedestrian walkway addition along the southern end of the South Jog.  The project includes, but is not limited to, the demolition of an existing gangway platform, the construction of a new reinforced concrete pedestrian walkway supported by SYP CCA treated timber piles and a combination of stainless steel and fiberglass reinforced plastic structural members and includes a timber whale and timber chock fender system.  The existing gangway assembly will be reinstalled on the new walkway and handrail will be constructed along the length of the walkway.   A 19’ long concrete foundation wall will be constructed, extending the southern wall of the South Jog landward.  A Tensar Marine Mattress will be installed at the base of the new foundation wall.  In addition to the piles utilized to support the walkway, an additional pile and mounting assembly will be installed for the purposes of supporting a (owner installed) jib crane. Other aspects of the project include, but are not limited to, excavation and backfill, walkway area painting, repair of a washed out section of the asphalt parking lot, and installation of additional guardrail. Contract documents may also be examined at, but not removed or taken from the office of the Engineer, Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC, (Foth) located at 15 Creek Road, Marion, MA 02738 (tel: 508-748-0937) between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday. The Town will receive bids at the Office of the Town Manager, 549 Main Street, Chatham, MA 02633, no later than 10:00 A.M., on JANUARY 07, 2026, at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. A non-mandatory Pre-bid Conference/Site Inspection will be held at 10:00 A.M., on DECEMBER 15, 2025, at project site, 45 Barcliff Avenue Ext, Chatham, MA. The Town reserves the right to waive any informalities and to reject any or all bids if it be in the public interest to do so in accordance with G.L. c. 30, §39M(b). A Faithful Performance Bond in the sum of 100% of the Contract Price and a Labor and Materials Payment Bond in an amount equal to at least 50% of the contract price, each of a surety company qualified to do business under the laws of the Commonwealth of MA, satisfactory to the Owner, will be required of the successful general bidder. Attention of the Bidders is particularly called to the requirements of the conditions of employment to be observed and the prevailing wage rates to be paid on this project, as determined by the State Department of Labor Division of Occupational Safety. Every bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of: 1) a bid bond, 2) cash, or 3) a certified check on, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by, a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the awarding authority. The amount of the bid deposit shall be 5% of the value of the bid. The award of a contract is subject to the Owner’s receipt of all regulatory approvals from local, state, or federal agencies.
