Yes NoITB 26-261639/ABPage 2 of 33Scope of WorkThe School Board of the City of Hampton (HCS) is seeking bids to establish a contract(s) for door repair, doorreplacement, and door hardware supplies for interior and exterior doors on an on-call as needed basis. Thecontractor(s) shall provide all necessary labor, equipment, materials, hardware, and supplies to perform thework.SpecificationsThe following specifications are not all-inclusive:1. Flush Hollow Metal Doors: All metal doors shall be 1 ¾”, grade 3, 16 gauge and galvanized doors. Doors shallbe fabricated with continuous rigid vertical reinforcing member, electrically welded to face sheets. Joints atvertical edges shall be continuously welded and finished. All doors shall be fabricated to fit existing frameopening sizes and sized to accommodate continuous hinged as specified. The use of filler plated for hinges andlock edges or face cutouts will not be accepted. Doors shall be primed painted.2. Hinges: All doors shall be hung on continuous hinges unless specified otherwise. All continuous hinges shallbe either half surface or full mortise type. Full surface hinges will not be acceptable. Where existing frameopening with sizes that do not vary more than 1/16”, half surface geared hinges must be utilized to allow foradjustment of the door in the existing frame so as to maintain the correct lock style clearance.3. Panic Devices: Panic devices shall be restricted to Von Duprin 99 series rim panic devices. No substitutesallowed. All devices will be with pull handle trim and allen wrench (dog down).4. Closer: Closer shall be restricted to LCN model 4040Xxp.5. Lock Cylinder: Lock Cylinders must be able to accept Schlage IC core.6. Door Hardware Installation: All door hardware shall be installed with through bolts or drilled and tapped intoreinforcement plates.7. Replacement Frames: All multiple door bank replacement frames shall be 14 gauge steel, fully welded andreinforced to accept door hardware. Frame face and depth dimensions shall be as specified in material list.Frames shall be primed painted. All single door replacement frames shall be 16 gauge hollow metal with subframe 5 ¾” depth or better.8. Exterior Doors: All exterior doors should be replaced with hollow metal doors.9. Interior Doors: Masonite Sliced Red Oak Clear Finish, 1 ¾”, 5 ply, particle core, pre-machined for hardware.10. Glass and Glazing: Lites shall be 3”X24” glazed with ¼” clear laminated or ¼” clear tempered in panted metalframe.11. Finish: All hardware shall be number 626 satin finish unless otherwise specified.12. The contractor(s) shall provide all necessary labor, equipment, materials, hardware, and supplies to perform thework.13. All work shall be performed during normal business hours. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday,7:00A.M. to 5:00P.M.14. Damage caused by the contractor(s) as a result of work performed under this contract shall be repaired by thecontractor at the contractor’s expense. Exceptions to this will be considered on a case-by-case basis.15. Use of tobacco products, alcohol, or illegal drugs are prohibited on HCS property. Contractor’s employees shallexit or be removed from the property upon discovery of such use and not be allowed back on the property forthe duration of that particular project.16.
