Project Name: 2025 City of Port Townsend Annual Chip Seal

Project Description: This Contract includes, but is not limited to, the following work: traffic control, removal of raised pavement markers, selective treatment with double course bituminous surface treatment, application of single course bituminous surface treatment followed by a secondary fog seal application, and installation of temporary markings to San Jaun Avenue and F Street and other work, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions and the Standard Specifications. Streets may be removed from this project or additional streets added to this project as the City’s Budget and Contractor schedule allows and are agreed upon. Additional street alternatives are listed as bid alternatives with accompanying maps and quantity schedule are attached to this document.
The Engineer’s Estimate is $428,617
Schedule: The Contract Work shall be Physically Complete within 15 Working Days from the Notice to Proceed.
Bid Deadline: Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the City of Port Townsend, Washington, for 2025 City of Port Townsend Annual Chip Seal up to the hour of 2:00 p. m., Pacific Local Time, Wednesday, June 18, 2025, and will be publicly opened and read aloud at that time on the same day in the Port Townsend City Hall, 250 Madison St, Suite 1, Port Townsend, Washington in second-floor conference room.
Each bid shall be in accordance with the Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents which are on file and may be examined at the City of Port Townsend City Hall, 250 Madison Street, Suite 1, Port Townsend, WA 98368.
No bidder may withdraw their proposal after the hours set for the opening thereof, or before award of contract, unless said award is delayed for a period exceeding sixty (60) calendar days.
Bid Bond: All Bids must be accompanied by a bid deposit in cashier’s check or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid in accordance with special provision 1-02.7.
Bid Documents: Plans, specifications, addenda, and plan holders list for this project will be available on-line through Builders Exchange of Washington, Inc. at http://www.bxwa.com . Click on "Posted Projects", "Public Works", "City of Port Townsend", "Projects Bidding", and “Project Bid Date”. Bidders must “Register as a Bidder”, in order to receive automatic e-mail notification of future addenda and to be placed on the “Bidders List”. This service is provided free of charge to Prime Bidders, Subcontractors, and Vendors bidding this project.
