Description: INVITATION FOR BID (IFB)                                                                                                                                           VEHICLE EXHAUST SYSTEM UPGRADE AND REPLACEMENT The Town of Longmeadow is accepting sealed bids for the vehicle system upgrade for the Fire department.  Bid documents are available from the Longmeadow Purchasing Department at the following address: Town of Longmeadow, Purchasing Department, Attn: Chad Thompson, Director of Procurement, 231 Maple Road, Longmeadow, MA 01106.  Bid documents can also be obtained online through the Purchasing Department page of the Town website: www.longmeadowma.gov  . Bidders that download documents are responsible for registering with the Longmeadow Purchasing Department to be added to the bid list ( For security reasons, you must enable JavaScript to view this E-mail address. , Phone: 413-565-4185). Others will be responsible for monitoring bid postings.  Failure to acknowledge addenda may result in a bid rejection. There is an Optional Pre-Bid conference at the Longmeadow Fire Department, 44 Williams St., Longmeadow MA, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 10:00am. Additional site inspection requests will not be accommodated. Sealed Bids will be received until the bid deadline of Friday, March 6, 2026 at 11:00am per IFB Addendum No.1  (Originally Thursday, February 26, 2026 at 11:00am) at the Longmeadow Purchasing Department.  Late bids will be rejected.  A public bid opening will immediately follow the bid deadline. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in an amount which is not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid amount. Bid deposits shall be made payable to the ‘Town of Longmeadow’ in the form of a bid bond or a certified check, treasurer's check or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company.  The awarded contractors shall comply with payment of minimum labor wage rates as set forth under the provisions of M.G.L., Chapter 149, Sections 26 to 27H inclusive. A Performance Bond and, a Labor and Materials Payment Bond each in the amount of 100% will be required upon contract award. The Town of Longmeadow acting through the Town Manager, the Awarding Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive minor informalities, and to award a contact in the best interest of the Town.
