GENERAL REQUIREMENTSThe proposed contract is removal of all salt cedar (Tamarix spp.) through mechanical control to reducefuel loads and improve wildlife habitat quality on 35 acres on the Beaver River Wildlife ManagementArea in Beaver County.Extract and stack Salt Cedars.• Cedars must be extracted, and root ball pulled out of ground.• Cedars must be stacked in piles of a minimum of 15 trees.• Cedars must be stacked at least 200 feet from cottonwood trees and 200 feet from existingfences as designated by the area biologist.• Standing dead cedars must also be extracted and stacked.• Cedars on slopes greater than 20% are not required to be cut. These areas will not be identifiedby ODWC prior to work beginning but will be the responsibility of the contractor to determine.Some cedars are large and difficult to extract. Some cedars are located on sandy, steep banks that aredifficult to operate equipment. It is up to the bidder to make sure they have the proper equipment toextract large cedars in this terrain.See attached map for project locations. Shapefiles are available upon request athayden.savage@odwc.ok.gov. The successful bidder must use these shapefiles to complete the jobbecause the areas will not be flagged.Vendor is to provide all needed equipment to complete the work as required. All work will be done asdirected by the ODWC Area Biologist.Contract will be awarded to one vendor. If vendor is awarded multiple ODWC projects, they must becapable of completing each project as required by contract documents.The contract will be issued by the Office of Management and Enterprise Services,Construction and Properties Division (OMES/CAP). The Contractor shall not begin workuntil the contract is in place and written notice to proceed has been issued by OMES/CAP.Work must be completed by June 1, 2026.
