The Town of Fairfax is now accepting proposals from qualified consulting firms to conduct a Comprehensive Cost of Services and Cost Allocation Study. The study will help ensure that the Town’s fee structures are transparent, equitable, and legally compliant.

What the Study Includes

The selected consultant will be responsible for three key areas of work:

• Cost Allocation Plan — Identify the full cost of Town services across all departments, determine appropriate overhead allocations, and calculate billable hourly rates.
• User Fee Study — Review the Town’s current fees; compare them to neighboring cities; and recommend new or adjusted fees where appropriate.
• Townwide Fee Services Audit — Assess the efficiency and transparency of the Town’s permit processing system compared to similar jurisdictions.
