Project Name Campus Wide Hydrodynamic Separator Installation Project Number 943717.01 Project Description Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Los Angeles, sealed bids for a lump sum contract from prequalified bidders are invited for the following work:
UCLA has been assigned a waste load allocation (WLA) of “zero trash discharge” in its campus storm drains, as outlined by the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Phase II Municipal Separate Stormwater System (MS4) Permit, issued by the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board (LARWQCB). The proposed project would bring UCLA into compliance with these requirements. The zero-trash-discharge WLA requires the removal of trash greater than or equal to 5 millimeters in size from the campus stormwater conveyance system.
The scope of work includes land surveying, geotechnical investigation, excavation, piping, electrical work, and the installation of a Hydrodynamic Separator (HDS) system to intercept trash conveyed by UCLA storm drains. The HDS system is proposed at three campus locations: (1) the Botanical Garden, (2) Westwood Plaza at Le Conte Avenue, and (3) the intersection of Charles E. Young Drive West and the Parking Structure 8 exit driveway.
