BackgroundSchaumburg is the largest center of economic development in the State of Illinois, outside the City of Chicago. With a daytime population of 150,000, thousands of businesses, 30 hotels, over 200 restaurants, highly educated workforce, superb location and high quality of life, Schaumburg is 'The Place for Business’.
The Village of Schaumburg is currently experiencing a great deal of growth in the residential and entertainment industries in two major locations within the corporate limits. Additionally, the relocation of the Police Headquarters is planned to be completed by the end of 2028 calendar year, resulting in the station being located in a different response district. Additionally, the department is responsible for fire prevention services which include compliance and enforcement, public education, and community risk reduction.
