Acknowledge receipt of this Addendum in the space provided on the Bid Form. Failureto do so may subject the Bidder to disqualification. The following modifications are being made asdescribed herein:I. SPECIFICATIONS AND PLANSThe specifications and plans are being modified to clarify the work in and around the frontdoor. Revised specifications (three pages total) and plans (two pages total) are enclosed.II. BID OPENINGThe date of the bid opening is being changed to Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 12:00 noonlocal time.Please acknowledge receipt of this addendum by inserting any revised pages into the contractdocuments and indicating the Addendum No. and date on the Bid.CITY OF WOOSTERDIVISION OF ENGINEERINGEncls.John Rice, PECity EngineerAddendum #1Page 1 of 1City Hall Window Replacement Phase 3Bidder shall become familiar with the proposed work scope ahead of bid submission.Remove and replace the following upper and lower original windows on the middle two-storywing areas of City Hall; see attached Exhibit “A”.Front of the building:(13 total qty.):(11 qty. fixed)(1 qty. transom window) above the entry door; entry door is NOT to be included in this Bid;sidelights ARE to be included in the Bid(1 qty.) for the window opening that contains the after-hours Drop Box locationEntry door, entry door sidelights and (above) door arched transom glazing installation shallbe specified as Amended (below):Rear of the building:(22 total qty.):(6 qty.) Council Chambers(8 qty.) north storage room(8 qty.) south storageNOTE: This bid work scope SHALL include, and at the Bidder’s discretion as to the choice of thefollowing (to be indicated in the Bid submission):1) Salvage of (and moving of) the existing emergency escape window unit (located at thesouth-west intersection of Phase II scope and this Phase III scope), to a currently fixedwindow installation of an Administration’s Conference Room window location(determined by the Owner)2) If salvage and re-installation is not possible, provide for the complete removal anddisposal of the existing emergency escape window; replace referenced opening with aNEW operable window unit (with screen); provide and install an approved equal to theexisting emergency escape window at the Conference Room location (determined by theOwner)3) A Building Permit from the City of Wooster Division of Building Standards is required forthis work scope. The contractor shall apply for the permit; the fee will be waived.All windows shall be DeSco i65 series 2-9/16" thermal frames with clear anodized finish to matchexisting window frames with 1" Bronze Solarban 60 Low-e tempered insulated VitroArchitectural Glass. Replace the top arched glass (heads) with wood covered with .040"aluminum trim on both sides – to match previously installed units.Entrance door, entry door sidelights and arched-top transom glazing shall be:Tubelite (finish: clear anodized) 400CW Series Curtainwall system: 2 ½” x 6”- Existing security swipe system shall be re-installed into the new door frame unit.- Entrance door hardware:ADA compliant pull handleCloserHinges (three (3)) per door leafWeather strippingKeyed lockset (to be coordinated with the City keying protocols/program through City-approved locksmith/vendor- Removal and reinstallation of the City logo/overhead entry medallion shall be theresponsibility of the Bidder.- Access to the City Customer Service counter/lobby area MUST be maintained throughoutwindow replacement work scope.ALL non-transom/entrance door glazing replacement locations shall require a subframe in orderto accept the specificied window units, and shall be as specified in the attached “Exhibit “B” :All glass shall be 1" Bronze Low-e tempered insulated glass unit with SB60 on the#2 surface. Outboard lite 1/4" bronze SB60 tempered, 1/2" air space mill finishspacer and inboard lite 1/4" clear tempered glass.Existing window coverings to remain undisturbed and wood blocking requiredfor wood arched top shall be included. Interior and exterior caulking shall beincluded and match existing windows that have already previously beenreplaced.GENERAL NOTES:*Protect the existing masonry and sills from damage as necessary. Protect the interior of the building fromdamage and construction debris. Warning signs and protective barriers must warn occupants andpassersby not to enter the work area. Workers must not track dust or debris from the work area into thebuilding.*Remove the existing windows, the window frames/stops, and any material from the installation thatwill prevent a level and firm installation or will prevent full adhesion of the selected sealant.*Demolition debris shall be disposed of in a compliant manner.*Install new windows in accordance with Manufacturer’s specifications in alignment with the wall.Support the windows under their main vertical supports with shims that level the window.*The window frames require a sufficiently wide gap between the new frame and the masonry opening toallow for a slightly out-of-square opening, leveling the window, and caulking the gap. Windows rely oncaulk/sealant to create a weatherproof seal around the window perimeter. Take care when installingcaulk so that it is durable and effective for as long as possible. The final installation shall be air andwatertight.*All affected work zones/areas shall be maintained in a clean, safe and secured condition at each day’sending. At no time shall any window opening remain unfilled/unsecured at the end of a day’s workperiod.
