PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Public Building Commission of Chicago (PBC) has invited all Contractors to bid on PBC Contract C1616, Works Progress Administration (“WPA”) Street Reconstruction (E. 109th St., S. Hoyne Ave., S. Harding Ave., E. 102nd St.).

The WPA Street Reconstruction (E. 109 th St., S. Hoyne Ave., S. Harding Ave., and E. 102 nd St.) Projects are located at:

  • East 109th Street from South Avenue O to South Burley Avenue, Chicago, IL
  • South Hoyne Avenue from West 52nd Place to Dead End, Chicago, IL
  • South Harding Avenue from West 24th Street to Dead End, Chicago, IL
  • East 102nd Street from Dead End to South Commercial Avenue, Chicago, IL

The project consists of a Works Progress Administration (“WPA”) street reconstruction Project, including: full-depth pavement reconstruction of the (4) locations indicated above. Work includes but isn’t limited to excavation, portland cement concrete base course, hot-mix asphalt surface course, sewer main and drainage structures, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalks, tactile/detectable warning surface system for curb ramps, concrete driveways and alleys, roadway lighting, thermoplastic pavement marking, signs, topsoil, sodding, and tree planting and removal.

Contractor will be required to prepare a Phasing and Logistics Plan within thirty (30) days of issuance of the Notice to Proceed (‘NTP’) for review and approval by CDOT and PBC, prior to the mobilization and commencement of any Work. The Contractor shall also be responsible for providing critical submittals, as determined by the PBC, within thirty (30) days of issuance of the NTP.

Sealed bids shall be received electronically by James Borkman, Director of Procurement at: james.borkman@cityofchicago.org and pbcprocurement@cityofchicago.org the Public Building Commission, Richard J. Daley Center, 50 West Washington, Room 200, by 11 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2024. A Public Bid Opening, streamed on the PBC YouTube channel, will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m.
