Description

Need Description:

- A fully automated cage system for analyzing rat home cage behavior and cognitive abilities.

Salient Characteristics (description of physical, functional, or performance features):

- Fully automated behavioral recording that requires no human intervention before, during or after behavioral

data collection; this prevents handling stress in the rodents

- Simultaneous collection of data pertaining to rodent activity (locomotion), exploration, learning and spatial

preference

- Continuous, long-term monitoring of uninterrupted behavior lasting up to at least 24 hrs

- Design software including experimental files, controller software, and analyzer software that allows for

analysis of data collected

hardware.
