JOB TITLE: Electrical Subcode Official/Housing Inspector

DEPARTMENT: Building
SALARY RANGE: $10,000 - $15,000
HOURS:  4 hours weekly: Mondays and Thursdays

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED

• Reviews and approves plans of proposed structures as provided in State Uniform Construction Code regulations for conformity with electrical and energy subcodes
• Inspects and evaluates electrical work in construction projects underway to ensure that all work installed conforms to the requirements of the approved plans and the electrical and energy subcodes, and the regulations of the State Uniform Construction Code
• Prepare inspection reports showing the progress of work on each project relative to construction code compliance, weather conditions, and the percentage of the project completed
• Must have strong customer service skills with the ability to work independently as well as with the team
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES & LICENSE

• Applicants must possess a valid license as an Electrical Subcode Official issued by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs and Building Inspector HHS License
• Valid NJ driver’s license

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• One (1) year of experience in building inspection
• NJ residency required by N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70)
• Pursuant to Federal Law, proof of US Citizenship or immigration status will be required upon hire
