Description: SURPLUS FOR SALE: 2001 Pierce Contender Fire Truck - The fire truck mileage is 121,121 and the hours are 9,822. The hour meter was replaced at 2372. The vehicle does start and is drivable. Possible transmission issue. Please see assessment report attached. Starter replaced at 6987 hours, Fuel Pump and head done at 110K, ABS , service and emergency air valves done at 105K, Injection pump done at 103K, Oil Cooler replaced at 98K, Steer axle brakes replaced at 94K. Road test unit and found alternator and engine temp well within specs. Unit has drift to right and hard riding, loose steering due to the springs. Recommend alignment after spring replacement to adjust caster. Oil pressure is on high side cold but within specs warm. Transmission shifts through all gears, hard downshifts when warm. Engine has plenty of power eliminating ring issue. All gauges seemingly work and are accurate. Compressor build up within specs. Brakes hold on hill in forward and reverse. Brake function well within specs. Wiper systems work well, the defroster works. Engine brake working as designed. The driver seat needs repair.
