The following outlines the scope of work covered in this Section:THE SUBSTANTIAL TURN-KEY MODERNIZATION OF ONE (1) HYDRAULIC ELEVATOR, TO INCLUDETHE RELATED WORK BY OTHER TRADES AS DENOTED IN SECTION 1.5, AND INCLUSIVE OFREPLACEMENT CONTROLLER, POWER UNIT, WIRING, HALL/CAR FIXTURES AND DOOREQUIPMENT.3. Related equipment shall be designed, constructed, installed and adjusted to produce the highestresults with respect to smooth, quiet, convenient and efficient operation, durability, economy ofmaintenance, and the highest standard of safety.4. It is not the intent of these specifications to detail the construction and design of all parts of theequipment, but it is expected that the type, materials, design, quality of work and construction ofeach part shall be adequate for the service required, durable, properly coordinated with all otherparts, and in accordance with the best commercial standards applicable and of the highestcommercial efficiency possible.5. Minimum requirements for design, materials, etc., are for certain parts of the equipment.Equivalent requirements approved by the Owner shall apply to such parts as are of special design,construction or material and to which the specified requirements are not directly applicable.These minimum requirements as a whole shall be considered as establishing proportionategeneral minimum standards for all parts of the equipment.6. The Owner may permit variations from the requirement of these specifications to permit use ofthe Contractor’s standard equipment, provided such standard equipment is in every wayadequate for the intended use and meets the full intent of these specifications.
