All suchwork is specifically included in the scope of work of this Contractor.DIVISION 02 – EXISTING CONDITIONS02 41 19 Selective Structure DemolitionDIVISION 9 – FINISHES09 65 13 Resilient Base & Accessories09 68 13 Tile Carpeting09 91 13 PaintingHereinafter all references made to the Contractor will mean the contractor bidding this Scope of work unlessnoted otherwise. The term “Provide” shall mean all labor, materials and equipment necessary for thecomplete furnishing and installation of specified item(s) or work.As further clarification, Contractor shall be responsible for the following:GENERAL TASKS (APPLICABLE TO ALL CONTRACTORS)1. Contractor must hold all of the appropriate license classifications required, or hold a “B” license andsubcontract with the remaining appropriately licensed contractor(s) to meet the qualificationrequirements.2. Fully plan and coordinate all work (i.e. work sequence, locations, embedded work, dimensions,layout, elevations, framing, finishes, connections, penetrations, safety, startup and testing, etc.) withall other Contractors prior to performing own work.3. Contractor is responsible for providing all lift equipment, cranes, forklifts, scaffolding, and otherequipment as needed to accomplish work of this Scope of work based on the site conditions at thetime of installation.4. The Contractor understands that it is imperative that work be completed in accordance with the Timeof Completion or as the work becomes available to them, whichever comes first. The ConstructionManager will try to better the Time of Completion, when or if slack or float time becomes availableduring the course of construction. By doing so, the Contractor agrees this is beneficial to all partiesconcerned to get their work finished early and agrees to not hold the District responsible for any costsassociated with working out of sequence or ahead of schedule, as long as critical path work durationsdo not change. The Contractor agrees to pursue the work accordingly as directed by the ConstructionManager. Perform any necessary work “out of sequence” to satisfy unique situations or for properinstallation of work under this Scope of work.5. This Contractor shall include fully staffed and capable crews working simultaneously on separateareas of the project as necessary to maintain the project schedule, especially while performing criticalpath activities.6. The Contractor shall take whatever means required to assure certain critical elements of work thatmust be completed during a specific timeframe or project phase, do indeed meet the contractspecified dates. It will be the Contractor’s responsibility to closely evaluate the Time of Completion,prepare submittals and procure long lead items in order to accomplish this work. The Contractor shallinclude all expediting and extra shipping/delivery costs associated with assuring the critical milestonedates are achieved. If any procurement issues prevent the Contractor from successfully meeting anymilestone dates shown in the Time of Completion, the Contractor must notify the ConstructionExterior Paint, Carpet Replacement, Tree Trimming,and Fence Mesh Fabric Install ProjectEastside Elementary School ~ EUSDWork Scope SummaryADDENDUM 01GENERAL CONSTRUCTION SCOPE OF WORK PAGE 1 OF 4Manager in writing within 10 days of the Notice to Proceed. Furthermore, the Contractor shallincorporate into their bid price any extended work weeks, multiple shifts and/or overtime costs tomeet the critical milestone dates.7. Contractor to furnish and perform the entire work within the defined duration and timeframe for theproject in the bid documents. Contractor is responsible to properly schedule the work andsubcontractors to ensure timely completion of the work. Contractor is responsible to provide shortinterval schedules and report weekly updates reflecting actual progress of the work in the field.8. Furnish all labor, material, services, equipment, and specific safety measures including but not limitedto task safety fencing, trench plates, signage, scaffolding, barricades, shoring, traffic control, safetydevices, services or skilled supervision necessary for all work applicable to this Contractor’s scope ofwork.9. Supply power cords, adapters, etc as necessary to complete the work of this scope of work in atimely manner and in accordance with the construction schedule. Furnish power for welders and anyspecial equipment needing voltage greater then 120V as it pertains to this Scope of work.10. This Contractor is responsible to provide task lighting as required to facilitate and complete the workof this Scope of work in a timely manner and in accordance with the current Construction Schedule.Electrical Contractor in accordance with the latest CAL OSHA Safety Orders will provide temporarylighting for building access if necessary.11. Be responsible for arranging all inspections required in this Scope of work. Contractor to provide anylift equipment or other apparatus required for the Inspector to safely perform inspection12. No signs or advertising of any kind will be permitted on or about the Site.13. Contractor shall comply with the site plan in the civil drawings, in coordination with the ConstructionManager and all Contractors, that indicates areas to be used for lay down of material and equipment;office and storage trailer locations; vehicular access gates with ingress and egress routes; locationsof wheel wash and concrete truck wash out activities; and offloading and hoisting locations etc.14. This Contractor shall remove all waste materials, and rubbish attributable to the work of this Scope ofwork to an appropriate disposal location on the jobsite throughout the duration of the project. Broomcleaning and minor trash removal shall be performed each working day. A weekly cleaning shall beperformed on every Friday including at a minimum a broom cleaning and the removal of wastematerials from all areas of work where installation was performed during that work week. If theContractor fails to perform progress cleaning or does not maintain the areas adjacent to the Projectclean and free of waste materials and rubbish, upon 48 hours written notice (or 24 hours writtennotice if the debris constitutes a safety hazard) the District or Construction Manager may clean up onbehalf of the Contractor and at the Contractor’s expense with the cost back-charged via creditChange Order. If it cannot be determined who the responsible Contractor is, the costs shall beshared by the Contractors actively working on the Project as determined at the sole discretion of theConstruction Manager.EXTERIOR PAINTING, CARPET REPLACEMENT, TREE TRIM/REMOVAL, & FENCE MESH FABRIC15. Provide exterior painting of stucco, plaster, exposed conduits, boxes and pipes, wood and metaldoors, door frames, wood panels, plywood, gutters, down spouts, louvers, window frames, wood trimfascias, metal flashings, unless items have been designated with a factory finish. Prepare allsurfaces including but not limited to scraping, sanding, putty, washing, priming, and back priming.Where rust or scale is present, it shall be cleaned prior to painting. If there is a discrepancy betweenpainted and pre-finished designations and no pre-bid RFI is submitted to clarify, the paint finish shallbe included and resolved via RFI process with the District.a) Paint colors shall be like for like (i.e. trim: tropical blue, main building: cream/beige, piping alongbrick shall match brick color). All delaminated or damaged existing painted surfaces shall be properly prepared, repaired, and to beready to receive and maintain new paint.17. All utilized paint to be exterior grade and to meet State of California requirements. Prior to start ofpainting, Contractor shall submit drawdown samples to the District for approval of color and finish.18. Brick or brick veneers on all building facades are to be power washed and cleaned (Refer toattachment A for building locations). Protect all windows during pressure washing from potentialwater leaks to the inside of the building. Contractor is fully responsible to field verify and provideaccurate pricing. Adjacent vegetation to be protected in place as the work is being performed.a) Contractor to properly clean all calcified material from the face of the brick veneer. When usingchemicals, all applied material shall comply with the State of California regulations andrequirements. Contractor to provide MSDI sheet prior to the application.19. Refer to asbestos and lead survey by Citadel to be issued by addendum. Contractor is responsiblefor abatement of hazardous materials if lead and asbestos are encountered during constructionactivities. Contractor is responsible to submit proper notification to AQMD and obtain requiredpermits. No time impact related to AQMD approval is acceptable. Proper abatement is part ofcontractor’s scope if applicable.20. Provide all trash and spoil haul-off generated by this Scope of work. Provide temporary protection ofadjacent existing areas to remain. Damages to any surfaces resulting from work of this scope of workwill be repaired to the satisfaction of the District and paid for by this contractor.21. Install owner furnished privacy fence mesh fabric on existing 7’-5” height chain link fence (Refer toattachment D for install location). Installation guidelines and video are provided herein. Per themanufacturer’s recommendations, contractor to utilize hog rings to secure mesh fabric to chain linkfence. Zip ties are not acceptable.22. Protect in place all existing signages including signage at the front of the building that reads “EastsideElementary”.23. Remove 96 large trees ranging from 30-75 feet in height (Refer to attachment B). Tree stumps are tobe grounded 6” below grade. Regrade grounded stump areas for a level surface.a) Gross Total trees to be removed: 96 treesb) Gross Total trees to be trimmed: 24 trees24. Trim and remove dead branches from trees (Refer to attachment C).25. Remove and dispose of old flooring including cove base in Rooms 201, 202, 203, 204, 205, 206, 220,401, 402, 405 and Library. Provide new carpet tile, resilient cove base, reducer strips, and transitionstrips. Approximate square footage of 10,305 sq. ft. of demolition and installation of new flooring.Contractor is responsible to field verify and to include accurate pricing in the base bid. Color of covebase to be selected by the District. All areas that currently have existing cove base to receive newcove base as specified.Total Square footage of classrooms (classroom#401 is not included): 8,005 sq ftLibrary square footage: 2,300 sq fta) District is responsible for moving furniture out of rooms 201 202 203 204 205 206 220 402and 405 prior to contractor’s commencement of work.b) Contractor is responsible for relocating furniture, bookshelves, books, etc. from Library only,to a temporary location designated by the District. Location will be a portable buildingadjacent to the Library. Contractor is responsible for moving furniture, bookshelves, books,etc. to the library after completion of carpet replacement.Exterior Paint, Carpet Replacement, Tree Trimming,and Fence Mesh Fabric Install ProjectEastside Elementary School ~ EUSDWork Scope SummaryADDENDUM 01GENERAL CONSTRUCTION SCOPE OF WORK PAGE 3 OF 4c) Fixed bookshelves at perimeter of the Library must be protected in place by the Contractor.26. Provide all floor preparation at floors and walls to receive finishes specified in this scope of workincluding but not limited to filling utilizing a self-leveling compound, grinding or bushing of concrete.Remove any residual paint on the concrete prior to installation of flooring.27. Vacuum and clean all installed surfaces after completion of work including removing excessadhesives. Provide carpet protection film at primary traffic areas on installed carpeting as directed bythe Construction Manager. This will be done immediately following installation.28. Include an allowance of $50,000 for wood repair/replacement around door and window frames andany other work at the direction of the District or the District Construction Manager that may have beenunforeseen at time of bid. This allowance shall be listed in the Schedule of Values and is to be usedas directed by the Construction Manager and District and is not to be used to fulfill obligations underthis contract. All costs used against this allowance must be agreed to by the Construction Managerand District before work is started. All unused portions of this allowance amount shall be creditedback to the District in the form of a deductive change order at 100% of the remaining value.
