NOTICE TO BIDDERSSealed proposals for the construction (including all labor, materials and equipment) of theLAFAYETTE STEELE SITE ROAD CONSTRUCTION AND INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTwill be received by the City of Lafayette, Indiana, at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 20 North SixthStreet, Lafayette, Indiana 47901, until 9:00 a.m., on December 16, 2025 at which time Bids will bepublicly opened and read aloud. Any bids received later than the above time will be returned to theBidder unopened. No oral, telephoned, telegraphed, faxed, or emailed bids or changes to bids will beconsidered.The general description of work for which proposals are to be received consists of:The construction of an intersection for the Lafayette Steele Site along SR 38. Work will include HMAand concrete pavement, curbing, signal modification, preemption signage, conduit, railroadcoordination, storm sewer, detention basins, and pavement markings and signage.Work shall be in accordance with the Bidding Documents, including the Specifications and theConstruction Drawings.Bids shall be properly and completely executed on Form No. 96 (Revised 2013, as prescribed by theIndiana State Board of Accounts), accompanied by the Project Bid Proposal Form. Bidder’s financialstatement required therein shall reflect conditions not more than four (4) months prior to date of bids.Bids shall be accompanied by an acceptable Cashier’s Check or satisfactory bond by an incorporatedsurety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana, in an amount ofnot less than five (5) percent of said bid. The deposit is for the purpose of insuring the execution of thecontract for which said bid is made.Bidder’s Federal I.D. number must be shown on Page 1 of Form 96 under the “Oath and Affirmation”section.As required by Federal Law, wage rates on this project shall not be less than the prescribed scale ofwages as determined in accordance with the current Federal Wage Decision with modifications includedin the bid.The Contractor to whom work is awarded will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor &Materials Payment Bond, acceptable by the City of Lafayette, Indiana, in the amount of one hundred(100) percent of the contract price.No Bidder may withdraw his proposal within a period of ninety (90) days following the date set forreceiving bids. The City of Lafayette, Indiana, reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period ofnot more than ninety (90) days and said bids shall be and remain valid and in full force and effect duringsaid time. The City of Lafayette, Indiana, further reserves the right to waive informalities and to awardthe contract to any Bidder or Bidders, all to the advantage of the City of Lafayette, Indiana, or to rejectall bids.Bid Documents for the proposed work are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Lafayette,Indiana.
