Description: Bid Posting Date: April 16, 2026 Project: 2026 Elevator Inspection (Category 1) Contract Number: TBD Bids Due: Bids will be accepted until 4:00pm local time on April 30, 2026. This project includes, but is not necessarily limited to: Category 1 elevator test for three hydraulic elevators: City Hall, Valdez Library, and Senior Center. Category 1 test on cable-operated dumbwaiter at Council Chambers and cable book elevator at the Library. These tests are to be performed once annually. Category 5 elevator test will not be due until 2029. The City reserves the right to waive any irregularities or informalities in a bid and to reject any and all bids without cause. Current minimum prevailing wage rates as published by the Alaska Department of Labor must be paid if required by law. Requirements of the Alaska Employment Preference (AS 36.10) must be met. The City of Valdez encourages disadvantaged, minority and women-owned firms to respond and is available to assist said firms in learning how to do business with the City.
