REQUEST FOR QUOTATION

Piper Prairie Elementary Playground Upgrades

In accordance with the specifications, the undersigned agrees to provide the items described on the Bid Form at a location designated by Piper School District #203 (District).  The District reserves the right to reject all bids and/or make more than one award on the basis of this bid.  Award(s) will be made to the lowest responsible bidder of the lump sum price.  Bids must be firm for a period of 90 (NINETY) days following the bid opening.

1. The Board of Education reserves the right to select or reject any and/or all bids containing alternate proposals; to waive any informality in proposals; and to reject or accept any and/or all bids as shall in its judgment be to the best interest of the District.
2. Bidders are cautioned to show the total price on the Bid Form and to sign the Bid Form.
3. Prices shall not include sales tax, excise taxes, or any other taxes for which the District is not liable.  The District will execute any necessary exemption certificates.
4. If applicable, the Contractor shall secure and pay for all necessary permits and fees required for construction/installation.
5. If bid is in excess of $100,000.00 a surety bond shall be required.

Scope of Work:

Additional Play space and structures for Piper Prairie Playground located at 3131 N. 122nd St. Kansas City KS, 66109. Items to include.

• Remove merry go round structure on 2nd grade playground and replace with an artificial berm or structure that would fit in its space.
• Supply an ADA Gaga Pit with matting.
• A four swing structure with a 36 x 32 hard surface space with soft surfacing on top for swings.
• A 32 x 32 Blacktop area with basketball goal installed (goal to be provided by owner).

Additional hard surface and swing area 68 X 32 should be fenced to match the existing playground fencing. With a 5 ft entry gate and a 10 ft double gate for access.

• Additional concrete sidewalk will also be required around new hard surfaces outside of fencing. To re connect sidewalk points.

Scope of Work:

The Piper school district is looking for pricing to install a K-2 playground located at 4420 N. 107th st. Kansas City KS, 66109.

Play structure will be Burke equipment or equal. Made in the USA. Playground structure and area should focus on 5-12 yr old users. Focused on safety, and is fully compliant with ASTM F1487 and CPSC playground safety standards. The structure should have a ramp for wheelchair accessibility or equivalent wheelchair activities throughout the area. A two bay 4 swing structure with a 7 ft header should be priced also. Surface under structures should be poured in place with some hard surfacing requirements along with 6 ft black vinyl fencing to enclose. See attached site plan.
