SEP Program: Solicitation Name: MBE Removal, Disposal &Testing -Regulated Waste(REBID) SEP %: Solicitation ID: WMATA-0000010369 Solicitation Format/Type: Sell Solicitation RFx Solicitation Round: 1 Solicitation Version: 4 Solicitation Start Date: 06/24/2025 8:25PM EDT 07/02/2025 02:00 PM EDT Solicitation End Date: Pre Bid/Proposal Date: Bid/Propose on all Lines Items: Yes Solicitation Description: The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is seeking bids from qualified contractors to provide all necessary services for the removal and disposal of Hazardous and non-hazardous regulated waste from Metro facilities. WMATA operates numerous industrial and stormwater pretreatment systems, groundwater remediation systems, and other equipment that require routine cleanings, generating non-hazardous oily waste materials including: -Oil/water mixtures -Oily sludge/solids -Oily debris (trash, sand, grit, and other solids) -Iron sludge -Used garnet (abrasive) and water On an infrequent basis, WMATA may also generate quantities of other non-hazardous wastes, including: -Spent Stormfilter cartridges and/or media -Oil/water mix -Used antifreeze -Petroleum-impacted soil -Antifreeze/oil/water mix -Street sweeper waste These wastes must be managed, transported, and disposed of in accordance with all applicable environmental laws and regulations in a proper and lawful manner. Additionally, WMATA requires the ability to respond to actual or threatened releases and spills of hazardous materials within the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area swiftly and lawfully.
