ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDSBUSINESS HIGHWAY 13 SIDEWALK CONNECTIONCITY OF LEXINGTON, LAFAYETTE COUNTY, MISSOURIFEDERAL AID PROJECT NO. TAP-9901(445)Separate sealed BIDS for Business Highway 13 Sidewalk Connection will be received by City of Lexington,Missouri, located at 919 Franklin Avenue, Lexington, MO 64067, until 2:00 o’clock P.M. (Prevailing LocalTime) on the 11th day of March, 2026 and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud.The proposed work includes: Construction of sidewalk, sidewalk ramps, and driveway approaches for apedestrian crossing of Business Highway 13 on the south side of 20th Street and the installation of arectangular rapid flashing beacon. The project will utilize MoDOT Right-of-Way, City Right-of-Way, and Citymaintenance easements for construction as well as temporary construction easements for grading and tie-ins parallel to the proposed sidewalk.All labor used in the construction of this public improvement shall be paid a wage no less than the prevailinghourly rate of wages of work of a similar character in this locality as established by the Department of Laborand Industrial Relations (Federal Wage Rate), or state wage rate, whichever is higher.The City of Lexington hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract enteredinto pursuant to this advertisement, businesses owned and controlled by socially and economicallydisadvantaged individuals will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and willnot be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, religion, creed, sex, age, ancestry, or nationalorigin in consideration for an award.All bidders must be on MoDOT’s Qualified Contractor List per Section 102.2 from the current version of theMissouri Standard Specifications for Highway Construction, including all revisions. The contractorquestionnaire must be on file 7 days prior to bid opening.Contractors and sub-contractors who sign a contract to work on public works projects provide a 10-HourOSHA construction safety program, or similar program approved by the Department of Labor and IndustrialRelations, to be completed by their on-site employees within sixty (60) days of beginning work on theconstruction project.CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be viewed at the offices of the City of Lexington, and Bartlett & West.Digital copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be purchased with a non-refundable deposit atwww.bartlettwest.com or www.questcdn.com.
