NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

The Owner will receive sealed Bids for furnishing of all materials and labor for the Lake of the Woods Road Sanitary Sewer Extension Project, Village of Mahomet, Champaign County, Illinois.

Sealed Bids will be received until 10:00 AM prevailing time on April 9, 2025 at the Village of Mahomet Municipal Offices at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

The Contract Documents may be examined at the offices of the during normal business hours.

Only Plan Holders of Record that register and obtain documents from the Engineer? may submit bids for this project.? To register and request documents, email projects@bernsclancy.com or call 217-384-1144 to provide contact information and remit payment in the amount of twenty-five dollars ($25.00).? A complete set of bid documents (plans and specifications) in pdf format will be emailed.? Plan Holders may then make printed copies as desired.? Additionally, paper copies of the documents may be secured from the Engineer by remitting one hundred dollars ($100.00) for each set of paper Documents.? Payment for each set of bid documents shall be made in currency or by check, bank draft, or money order payable to Berns, Clancy and Associates.? Each such payment will not be refunded.? Partial sets of documents will not be provided.

Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, bank cashier’s check, or properly certified check in the amount of twelve thousand five hundred dollars ($12,500.00).? A Contract Bond in the total amount of the contract price with a corporate surety approved by the Owner will be required for the faithful performance of the contract.

Project Description: The Project consists of the installation of approximately 91 lineal feet of 10-inch diameter sanitary sewer pipe, 1,900 lineal feet of 8-inch diameter sanitary sewer pipe, nine (9) manholes, demolition of an existing wastewater pumping station, excavation, backfill, and surface restoration, as well as other incidental activities and improvements.? The majority of the sanitary sewer pipe will be installed via horizontal directional drilling methods.

The Contractor shall be required to provide certificates of insurance as indicated in the documents.

The Contractor will be required to comply with all Federal, State and Municipal laws and regulations, including those related to discrimination, prevailing wage, safety, bid-rigging, human rights, preferential employment of Illinois labor and equal opportunity employment.

The Village of Mahomet reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any formalities or inconsistencies in the bids, to reduce the scope of work to accommodate the project budget, to accept any proposals which it deems most favorable, or to continue the letting from time to time as deemed in the best interest of the Owner.

Bids may be held by the Village of Mahometfor a period not to exceed forty five (45) days from the date of the opening of bids for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the qualifications of bidders, prior to awarding the contract.

A Pre-Bid Conference will be held for the project on March 27, 2025 at 10:00 am, at the Mahomet Village Offices.
