SANTA CLARA COUNTY OFFICE OF EDUCATION1290 Ridder Park Drive, San Jose CA 95131-2304NOTICE TO BIDDERS INVITING FORMAL BIDSB 04_25_26 – WALDEN WEST MODERNIZATION• Notice: Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the Santa Clara County Office of Education(hereinafter referred to as SCCOE), is requesting bids from interested contractors for the following project:B 04_25_26 – WALDEN WEST MODERNIZATIONNo offer of intent should be construed from this legal notice that the SCCOE intends to enter a contract with theinterested company.• The SCCOE will conduct a mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 10:00 AMat Walden West 15555 Sanborn Rd, Saratoga, CA 95070. All participants are required to sign in, and the site visitis expected to take approximately 1.5 hours. Failure to attend or tardiness will render bid ineligible.Please RSVP to:Ted PierceManager, Facilities & Constructiontpierce@sccoe.org(408) 453-6684Josephine Dy-LiaccoManager, Purchasing Servicesjdy-liacco@sccoe.org(408) 453-6854• Required Contractor License: The class(s) of California contractor’s license(s) required to bid on and performthe contract for this project is Contractor’s License: B – General Contractorso The Contractor shall possess a valid California Class B – General Building Contractor license at the time ofbid and throughout the duration of the Project.o The Contractor shall also possess, or subcontract with appropriately licensed contractors for, all specialtywork required to complete the Project.• Bid Submittal: Written bids must be sealed and filed with the SCCOE at 1290 Ridder Park Drive, San Jose CA95131 no later than 3:00pm on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at which time the SCCOE will publicly open and read allbids. Sealed bids must be addressed to Josephine Dy-Liacco, Supervisor – Purchasing Services. Any bid receivedafter the bid deadline shall be returned to the bidder unopened. All bids will be available for public review afterthe bid tabulations are completed and recommendation for contract award is submitted. It shall be the fullresponsibility of all bidders to ensure that bids are delivered to the above office by the time and date stated.Facsimile (FAX) or electronica copies of the proposal will not be accepted. The SCCOE will not be responsible forlate deliveries by U.S. mail or any other means.• Required Bid Security: Each bidder shall submit with its bid form bid security in an amount not less than tenpercent (10%) of the maximum bid amount as a guarantee that, if awarded the contract, the bidder will, withinseven (7) calendar days following the Notice of Award, enter into a contract with the SCCOE for the performanceof the services as stipulated in the bid and furnish all required bonds, insurance certificates, and otherdocuments described in the Contract Documents. The bid security shall be in one of the following forms: (1) acashier’s check payable to the SCCOE; (2) a certified check payable to the SCCOE; or (3) a bid bond in the formset forth in the Contract Documents and payable to the SCCOE. Any bond submitted must be issued by aCalifornia-admitted surety as defined in Code of Civil Procedure Section 995.120. The successful bidder shallfurnish a one hundred percent (100%) Performance Bond and a one hundred percent (100%) Payment Bondupon award of the contract for the Project.• Withdrawal: Companies may not withdraw proposals for a period of sixty (60) days after the date set foropening of proposals.• Questions: Interested firms will direct questions in writing, no later than 3:00pm on Tuesday, April 21,2026, to Josephine Dy-Liacco at jdy-liacco@sccoe.org, Ted Pierce at tpierce@sccoe.org.
