The project includes but is not limited to new construction of the Saban Center for the City of Tuscaloosa, which is the awarding authority.

PREQUALIFICATION:

The prequalification procedure will identify responsible and competent General Contractor bidders relative to the requirements of the Project.  Prequalification project summary information and prequalification submittal forms will be made available to prospective bidders on March 10, 2025 by contacting Volkert, Inc. via email to Jonathan Grammer [email protected] AND Lee Williams [email protected] .

Contractor Prequalification Submittals are due no later than April 4, 2025 5:00 p.m. local time:

Notification of successful prequalified respondents will be issued no later than 5:00 p.m. local time on April 11, 2025.

Only General Contractors who have completed the prequalification process within the stated time limits, and which are properly licensed in accordance with criteria established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors under the Provision of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama 1975, as amended, and deemed prequalified will be considered for the work of this Project. Additional qualifications and requirements for General Contractor Bidders and Subcontractors are indicated in the Bid and Contract Documents.

MANDATORY PREBID CONFERENCE:

Attendance at the MANDATORY Pre-Bid Conference is required in order for a General Contractor to be considered for the work of this Project. The Pre-Bid Conference will be held at the Council Chamber of City Hall, 2201 University Boulevard, on April 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. local time.

BID OPENING:

Sealed Bid Proposals will be received by the City of Tuscaloosa, at the Council Chamber of City Hall, 2201 University Boulevard, on May 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. local time for this project, at which time sealed bids will be opened and read.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Award of the contract will be made within sixty (60) calendar days from the date of the bid opening.

Plans and Specifications:  Plans and specifications and all related Contract Documents are open for public inspection at the office of Volkert, Inc. and plans,  specifications  and  other  elements  of  the  contract  documents  may  be  obtained  from  the  office  of  Volkert, Inc. designated as the office of the awarding authority for this purpose, located at 100 Towncenter Blvd., Ste. 114 Tuscaloosa, AL 35406.
