State Street Watermain ImprovementsCity of Big RapidsState Street Watermain ImprovementsThe City of Big Rapids is requesting Bids for the construction of State Street Watermain Improvements. Bids for the construction of the project will be received at the City of Big Rapids City Offices located at
226 N. Michigan Avenue, Big Rapids, MI 49307 until 2:00 p.m. local time, Monday, March 30, 2026.At that time, the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. Items of work include approximately 5,200 feet of directionally drilled 14” HDPE water main, 1,700’ of open cut water main, 7 Bore & Jack operations of various sizes, water services and hydrants, as well as pavement and sidewalk repairs.
Prospective Bidders may request the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office. The Issuing Office of the Bidding Documents is: Fleis & VandenBrink, 2690 Lucerne Drive SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546email: bidroom@fveng.com Telephone: (616) 977-1000. Bidding Documents will be emailed in portable document format (PDF) at no charge; hard copy documents are not available. Non-biddable documents may be viewed on the City of Big Rapids website and on our on-line Bid Room atThe date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents.A pre-bid conference will not be held.For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents.Funding is provided through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) Water Related Infrastructure Grant program which requires that Federal Wage Rates be utilized. We would like to call the bidders attention to the Davis-Bacon/Prevailing Federal Wage Rates, 29 CFR Part 5- LaborStandards Provisions for Federally Assisted Projects, and Debarment/Suspension Certification.
