The project will be constructed under the “work restrictions” as indicated in Specification Section 011000 “SUMMARY” and in the drawings.

Background

Chesapeake Public Schools, including the School Board (hereafter known as the District) seeks bids from qualified, licensed, and insured vendors to provide Security Vestibules - Butts Road Intermediate School, Great Bridge Intermediate School, and Greenbrier Intermediate School .

Through this Invitation For Bid (IFB), the District is seeking to identify one or more vendors who can most fully meet the needs of the District as specified in this document and any associated attachments.

Based on enrollment, the District is the seventh largest school district in Virginia. With nearly 40,000 students and 6,000 employees in 56 schools and centers, the District is committed to providing excellence in education for the children of Chesapeake.

Pre-Bid Meeting (Non-Mandatory):

March 6, 2026, 9:00am

A Pre-Bid Conference will begin at Greenbrier Intermediate School, located at 1701 River Birch Run, North, Chesapeake, Virginia 23320 at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026. Once this site visit is completed, we will conduct a site visit at Great Bridge Intermediate School, located at 253 Hanbury Road, West, Chesapeake, Virginia 23322. The final site visit will take place at Butts Road Intermediate School, located at 1571 Mt. Pleasant Road, Chesapeake, Virginia 23322 immediately afterward. Check-in will be required at the Security Desk. Although the pre-bid conference is not mandatory, it is strongly suggested to all bidders.
