Description:

Sealed bids for the City of Tipp City’s 2nd Street Culvert Replacement Project will be received at
the Government Center, City of Tipp City, 260 S. Garber Drive, Tipp City, Ohio 45371 until 10:00
a.m. on April 30, 2026, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud in the City
Council Chambers.

The work for which these bids are invited consists of providing all labor, equipment, and materials
for the removal, replacement, and extension of the box culvert for the 2nd Street Amokee Ditch
crossing located south of 372 2nd St. The owner intends for the project to commence in August
and requires that the entire project be completed by November 1, 2026. Materials and
workmanship shall conform to the State of Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT)
Construction and Materials Specifications, January 1, 2023, Edition or most recent Edition, unless
otherwise noted. Proposals must include all items.

The estimated cost of construction for the work outlined in the plans and specifications is
$966,636. Copies of plans and specifications are available for inspection on or after April 15,
2026. Plans may be obtained from the City web site at https://www.tippcityohio.gov/Bids.aspx . Bid
packages will not be printed or mailed. All bidders must be registered plan-holders to bid on this
project.

The Contractor shall be required to pay not less than the minimum wage rates established by the
Department of Industrial Relations of the State of Ohio. This is a prevailing wage project.
All bids shall be signed and include a guaranty that the successful bidder will enter into a contract
with the City. A bidder shall secure a bid bond in the amount of 100 % of the bid. In lieu of a bid
bond, the City will also accept a certified check, or a bank cashier’s check, drawn on a solvent
bank, payable to the City of Tipp City, Ohio in the amount of 10% of bid, as a guaranty that if the
bid is accepted a contract will be entered into with the bidder. The guaranty is subject to
conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. The successful Bidder will be required to
furnish a satisfactory Performance Bond in the amount of 100% of the bid. All bidders shall
include a copy of the bidder’s Workers Compensation Certificate and Certificate of Liability
Insurance.

The City of Tipp City reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any irregularities in the
bids, and to accept any bid which is deemed by the City to be in their best interest. All Bids will
remain subject to acceptance for 90 days after the day of the Bid opening, but Owner may, in its
sole discretion, release any Bid and return the Bid Security prior to the end of this period.
