Bidder shall furnish all the informationrequired by the solicitation. The bidder’s name must be typed or printed on the bid sheet and signed by the bidder orappropriate authorized executive officer of the bidder’s company. Bidders must initial any changes or erasures. Bidders shouldretain a copy of bids for their records.Bidders shall acknowledge receipt of all addenda to this solicitation by signing and returning each addendum or by identifyingthe addendum number and the date on the bid form. Bids will be opened immediately after bid closing time in the OperationsCenter Board room located at the Customer Service entrance. Award will be by Total Cost & Lead Time. The bidder offers andagrees, if this bid is accepted, to furnish the items as defined in the specifications for the unit price set opposite each item.Pricing shall be FOB Mobile, Alabama. All items shall be delivered to CC Williams WWTP located at 1600 Yeend St., Mobile,AL 36603, or to the job site as needed. The bidder shall state the expected length of delivery time on the Bid Form.Bidder understands and agrees that manufacturer and part numbers are provided for descriptive purposes only. Items of equalor better quality will be considered but must be approved by MAWSS in writing. Upon delivery, if the quality, durability orperformance of any product represented as equal or better is determined by MAWSS to be unsatisfactory, MAWSS will requirea suitable substitute or will require that the originally specified item be delivered, at the unit price originally offered by bidder.No substitution for items to be provided pursuant to this contract shall be permitted during the contract period without theexpress written consent of MAWSS. All items provided shall be for commercial use and for the purposes reflected in thecontract documents.No bid on closed out or discontinued item(s) will be accepted. Item(s) that have a determinable shelf life must be disclosed atthe time of bid submittal. Bidder understands that his/her bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of sixty(60) calendar days after the scheduled closing time for receiving bids.Bidder understands and agrees that quantities will be purchased by MAWSS on an “as needed” basis to replenish inventory.MAWSS shall not be committed to the purchase of a pre-established minimum quantity for any one item.A bidder may not modify its bid after bid opening. One submersible 6” non-clog pump, rated to deliver 1496 GPM @ 50.7’ TDH. Thepump shall be driven by a 30hp motor suitable for operation on 460/3/60 and shallbe FM approved for use in class 1 division 1, groups C & D hazardous locations. Thecontrol and electrical cables shall be a minimum of 60’feet long and all applicablecontrol relays shall be included in the quote. The vendor shall make their pump adaptto the existing claw and guiderail assemble at no cost to MAWSS. The station iscurrently equipped with 30 horsepower Flygt pumps. The efficiency of the pumpsand delivery times will be considered in the purchase evaluation.1.02Capability:A. 3” minimum diameter spherical solid passage.1.02Materials of Construction:A. Casing - cast iron A48 Class 35C or 40B. All Exposed Bolts & Nuts - 316 stainless steelC. Pump Exterior Coating - Factory applied primer and finish coat to suit pumped media.D. Pump Interior – All internal wetted parts including volute assembly, shall receive a ceramic-epoxy coating as per below. Unless parts are hardened material, or coating can affect thehydraulics of the pump.1. Belzona®1321 (Ceramic S -Metal) (Minimum 24 dry mils thickness) shall beapplied blue topcoat and gray basecoat (to ensure successful overlap) by brush,applicator, or spray at a typical thickness of 15 mils per coat. The first coat shall notbe left more than 24 hours before overcoating with the second coat. Evidence ofbasecoat shall not be identifiable upon completion.E. Shaft & Sleeve - Stainless steel AISI 431 or 420F. Impeller – The hydraulic of the pump shall be equipped with a semi-open multi-vaneimpeller designed to transport wastewater and municipal sludge up to 8% DS.IFB 26-006 Submersible Pump PurchasePage 3 of 61. The impeller shall be wear-resistant and made of high chromium cast iron with atleast 24% chrome against sand and grit which is expected to enter the pumps stationwith the sewage. The impeller blades shall be self-cleaning upon each rotation as they pass across asharp relief groove in the Insert Ring and shall keep the impeller blades clear ofdebris. The clearance between the Insert Ring and the impeller leading edges shallbe adjustable.G. O-Rings - VitonH. Upper Bearing - Single row deep groove ball bearing.I. Lower Bearing - Two row angular contact ball bearing.J. All mating surfaces where watertight sealing is required shall be machined and fitted withViton rubber O-rings. Fitting shall be such that sealing is accomplished by metal-to-metalcontact between machine surfaces. Manufacturer’s literature, specifications, and engineering data including dimensions,material, size and weight. Performance data and curves showing pump efficiencies, flowrate, head, brake HP, motor HP, speed, and shut-off head.B. Operation and maintenance manuals including complete installation, operation andmaintenance data including installation and wiring diagrams.C.
