May 12, 2026 - The City of Ojai is seeking quotes from qualified suppliers/manufacturers for a project located at two existing crosswalk locations on Ojai Avenue in the City of Ojai. The scope of work includes the manufacturer and delivery of four solar powered rectangular rapid flashing beacon (RRFB) assemblies for the two crosswalk locations (one assembly per side of each crosswalk). Additionally, the assemblies will require the necessary pedestrian push button assemblies (either integral with the pole or on a separate pole as shown on the Drawings. This solicitation is for the pre-purchased units. The City intends to provide the assemblies to a contractor for installation that is already working for the City on a related project. Quotes shall include all necessary signs, brackets, hardware, poles, beacons, solar panels, batteries, etc., to complete the assembly.

This part refers to a pole with one threaded end. Ifa cap and base also need to be included, Pelco offered the assembly as detailedin the attached drawing. Is part PB-5237-SCH40-05-PNC Assembly an approvedequal?RESPONSE: The provided Pelco assembly (Attachment 1) is not an approvedequal. See Attachment 5 for pre-approved Pelco pole and base.AD1-3.QUESTION: The spec calls out a bulldog standard pushbutton with the 9x12plaque. Would you allow the Pedsafety 4ever Moab standard pushbutton with the9x12 to be an approved equal?RESPONSE: The provided Pedsafety 4ever MOAB standard pushbutton(Attachment 2) is tentatively accepted as an approved equal under thefollowing conditions: 1) MOAB must be compatible with all other RRFBsystem components (both hardware and electrical components). 2) Theaudible tone can be deactivated by the City at their discretion.AD1-4.QUESTION: The RRFB crosswalk image reflects a separate solar panel andbattery box for each crosswalk.
