Sealed bids will be received by the Guilford County School System until 3:00 PM EST on Tuesday, December

16, 2025 at 714 Green Valley Road, Greensboro, North Carolina 27408, conference room 2A and immediately

thereafter publicly opened and read aloud, to furnish all materials and labor for the project Chiller

Replacement for Andrews High School. Include the Bidders name and address on the front of the envelope

and the words “CONFIDENTIAL BID ENCLOSED: IFB #6793 Andrews High School”. Upon arrival, please

check-in at the front information desk to sign-in. Please allow sufficient time for this, as late bids will not be

accepted.

Plans, specifications, and contract documents will be available in electronic PDF format beginning Monday

November 17, 2025 through the following Dropbox link:

Documents Link” in the subject line. Requests for links received after 5:00 pm Wednesday December 10,

2025 will not be acknowledged. All official Bid Documents and addenda will be posted to this linked project

folder. Bidders will be responsible for checking the linked folder for the latest updates up to the Bid Date.

Paper copies of the complete document package can be purchased for $150 plus shipping costs through the

offices of Triad Engineering Consultants, Inc. (336) 338-8943. Sets will be printed and shipped one business

day after receipt of payment. Requests for printed packages shall include a check for the package cost and a

“Bill To” shipping account number and must be received no later than 5:00 pm Monday December 8, 2025.

Work in the project includes: Demolish and remove the existing centrifugal chiller, pumps, pads, select piping

in the mechanical room, associated electrical and controls. Provide new pads, new chiller, new pumps with all

accessories, new piping, associated electrical work, and BacNet controls system modifications programming

and integration to existing open protocol BacNet BMS system. Flush, clean, fill and vent chilled water and

condenser water piping prior to startup. All work under this contract is to be included in a Single Prime

contract to the successful bidder.

A prebid meeting will be held at the site at 2:00 pm on Tuesday November 25, 2025. The meeting will be

conducted in the equipment courtyard between the main gym and mini-gym accessed from the back parking lot.

All potential bidders are strongly encouraged to attend, examine the existing conditions, and discuss the

project’s specific details.

A 5% Bid Bond and 100% Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds are required for this project.

No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for the receipt of bids for a period of 60 days.

Bidders must be properly licensed for the work in accordance with Section 87 of the North Carolina General

Statutes.

Minority businesses are encouraged to submit bids for this project. The appropriate forms from the section

entitled “Participation by Women and Minority Owned Businesses” must be submitted with each bid to show

good faith efforts to obtain Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprise participation.

E-Verify Requirements: This project requires the awarded vendor to comply with the requirements of E-Verify.

(U.S. law requiring companies to employ only individuals who may legally work in the United States – either

U.S. citizens, or foreign citizens who have the necessary authorization.)

The Guilford County Board of Education awards public contracts without regard to race, religion, color, creed,

national origin, sex, age or handicapped condition as defined by North Carolina General Statutes, Section

168A-3.

The Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids presented and to waive any informalities and irregularities.
