Introduction

The City of Gallatin is requesting sealed bids for the purchase of two (2) custom trailers

for the Gallatin Public Works Department. Bids must be submitted no later than 2:00 PM

on Thursday, March 19, 2026, in a sealed envelope clearly marked “GPW Trailers.”

Scope of Work

Vendors are invited to submit bids for two (2) custom trailers. Bids must meet all

specifications listed below:

- DESCRIPTION – 7 TON 7x20+2 BUMPER

- FRAME – 6” CHANNEL

- TONGUE – 6” CHANNEL WRAP AROUND

- CROSSMEMBERS – 3” CHANNEL ON 16” CENTERS

- JACK – 10K SPRING LOADED DROP LEG

- COUPLER ADJUSTABLE 2 5/16”

- FLOOR – 2X8 PRESSURE TREATED PINE #1 GRADE

- FENDERS 8” CHANNEL

- LIGHTS – SEALED LED

- GATE – 3 LB GRATE WITH BUILT IN RAMPS WITH KICKERS AND

SPRINGS

- STAKE POCKETS AND RUB RAIL

- DOT TAPE

- SAFETY CHAINS

- ADDITIONAL RISER PLATFORM – (7’ WIDE BY 8’ LONG)

- STARTING 7’ FROM FRONT OF TRAILER

- 7” TALL TUBING LEGS (2”X2”1/4”) – 4 ON EACH SIDE

- 5” CHANNEL GRAME WELDED TO TOP OF TUBING LEGS (MAKING

PLATFORM 12” ABOVE TRAILER FLOOR”)

- 3” CHANNEL CROSSMEMBERS ON 16” CENTERS

- 2X8 PLYWOOD #1 GRADE

- PLATFORM WILL HOLD 2 PALLETS OF CONCRETE WEIGHING APPROX

6,000LBS

- PLATFORM IS INTENDED TO BE SLIGHTLY ABOVE THE FENDERS FOR

EASY LOADING OF PALLETS WITH A FORKLIFT.

Evaluation of Proposals

The City of Gallatin will award the contract to the lowest responsible and responsive

bidder meeting specifications, quality, and performance standards per the Municipal

Purchasing Act of 1983. Award criteria include:

 Completeness of response

 Cost

 Quality of service

 Quality of product

 Delivery time

Contract Award

The City of Gallatin reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and waive

informalities. The contract will be awarded based on the evaluation criteria. If the lowest

bidder is unavailable when needed, the city may proceed with the next lowest bidder.
