The solution must be HIPAA-compliant, easy to navigate, and tailored to meet the specific needs of the San Mateo County Human Services Agency (HSA), Employment Services division. The goal is to create a virtual environment that supports confidential, convenient, and effective interactions between staff and clients, ensuring equitable access to services and promoting overall well-being within the community.

Background

The Human Services Agency’s Employment Services division provides a wide array of support programs designed to assist individuals in achieving economic stability and self-sufficiency. In order to maximize client engagement and service delivery, the County requires the flexibility to meet with clients in formats that are accessible, secure, and convenient.

As client needs evolve, particularly in the wake of increasing digital service demand, the County recognizes the importance of offering virtual service options. A secure video-communication platform will allow Employment Services to meet clients where they are—whether in their homes, communities, or remote locations—by enabling safe, confidential, and reliable virtual appointments.
