Bid Title: CR K68/NFSR 869/Tomboy Road Retaining Wall

San Miguel County is requesting proposals for the design and construction of a retaining wall on a portion of CR K68, NFSR 869, Tomboy Rd located north of the Town of Telluride. The wall must be as low in profile as possible while creating a road surface of at least 14' in width. A portion of the wall will need to include design for a drainage feature and water crossing. Engineered plans must include structural calculations, dimensions, anchoring systems, a detailed list of materials, and be stamped by a registered civil engineer in the State of Colorado. Due to infrastructure existing downhill of the site, proposals should plan to minimize loss of material at the site, and rock removal should be achieved through non-explosive method(s). The proposed non-explosive method(s) of rock removal shall be described in the proposal, along with a comprehensive description of how rockfall shall be avoided or minimized. Due to the location and geographic challenges of the location, a detailed comprehensive safety plan must be included. Part of the safety plan shall include a traffic control plan for recreational hikers or bikers that may be encountered and traveling through the worksite. The packet must include the plans and schedules for construction including all mobilization and demobilization of material, personnel and equipment required for the completion of the retaining wall. For reference, we ask that you also include a list of projects with locations you have completed or worked on to show your capabilities of working in similar locations and conditions.
A mandatory on pre-bid on site meeting will be held on May 15th at 10:00 am. Bidders must have a representative attend this meeting for bids to be considered.
