CAMBRIDGE HOUSING AUTHORITY LEGAL ADVERTISEMENT REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR A REAL ESTATE ACQUISITION PROGRAM

Cambridge Affordable Housing Corporation (CAHC), Essex Street Management, Inc. (ESMI), and Kennedy Management Inc. (KMI) (collectively, the “Affiliates”), are accepting proposals for the acquisition of properties and parcels in Cambridge, Massachusetts and surrounding communities within fifty miles of Cambridge to develop and/or preserve affordable housing. The Affiliates seek to acquire all unit mixes of housing, but will give higher priority to two-bedroom and larger units that are suitable for families. The Affiliates are also seeking properties that could be expanded to include new affordable housing development or to meet specialized needs, such as permanent supportive housing or temporary housing. The Affiliates may select properties for acquisition from more than one proposal. The Affiliates may also select only some properties in a proposal.

Proposals must be prepared according to the objectives set out in the Request for Proposal issued by the Affiliates, c/o the Cambridge Housing Authority, dated April 1, 2026. Proposals will be accepted at the Cambridge Housing Authority , Attn: Margaret Donnelly Moran, 362 Green St, 3rd Floor, Cambridge, MA 02139 , on a rolling basis and considered no later than 12:00 PM on every Friday from May 1, 2026 through April 28, 2028. The value of the real estate acquisition will vary by type and size of the offer and will be verified by appraisal before acquisition.
