REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

RFP# 2026-32

ANIMAL SHELTER ADDITION

The City of West Haven (here after referred to as the City) is seeking proposals turn-key bids from qualified contractors

for the construction of an approximately 18’ 9” by 19’ 5” addition to the existing animal shelter facility. The project shall

include all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to deliver a complete and operational addition. Work

includes, but is not limited to, site preparation, foundation, structural construction, electrical, HVAC, and all required

finishes in accordance with applicable codes, specifications, and construction drawings. This funding is provided by the

Federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), and the organization/contractor will be required to comply with all Federal and

City rules and regulations associated with this funding.

Responses to this RFP shall be submitted to Kathy Chambers, Senior Buyer, City of West Haven, 355 Main Street, 3rd

Fl. Purchasing Dept., West Haven, CT 06516.

Proposals are due not later than June 2nd, 2026, at 2:00pm.

Respondents are required to submit three (3) copies of their proposal. All proposals must be sealed and clearly marked

RFP#2026-32 Animal Shelter Addition. No oral, telephonic, emailed, or faxed responses shall be considered. No oral,

telephonic, emailed, or faxed corrections, deletions, or additions to any response shall be accepted. The City reserves

the right to reject any or all proposals, and to waive any or all formalities in connection with this request. Any

responses received after the above scheduled due date and time, will be rejected. The City reserves the right to reject

any or all proposals, if it deems such to be in the best interest of the City of West Haven.
