OverviewPost InformationPosted At:Wed, Oct 8, 2025 7:00 AMSealed Bid Process:Yes (Bids Sealed / Pricing Sealed)Private Bid:NoSummarySeattle Public Utilities (SPU) seeks qualified vendors to provide annual dust control application services within the Cedar River Municipal Watershed. Services will include site preparation, dust control product handling, application, and post-application monitoring. SPU manages unpaved watershed roads that are critical to facility access and watershed operations. Annual dust control is essential to minimize airborne dust, protect water quality, improve road stability, reduce maintenance needs, and ensure visibility and safety during dry summer conditions. Services will involve the application of approved products such as IntegriBlend CS, Lignin Sulfonate, or approved equivalent, with work typically occurring in June, weather permitting.
BackgroundThe City has previously held contracts for dust control product application in the Cedar River Municipal Watershed. The most recent contract was with GMCO Corporation dba Roadwise, which closed on May 23, 2024, with a total yearly spend of approximately $180,000. With the expiration of this contract, the City is returning to the marketplace to establish a new agreement for these services. Future contracts will cover annual application of dust control products over 12–18 miles of unpaved watershed roads, with an anticipated product volume of 250–300 tons per year. Services may require coordination up to three months in advance, and work is expected to be completed to the satisfaction of the City Project Manager. The primary user of this contract will be Seattle Public Utilities, though other City departments may use it if needs arise.
