Notice Type	Notice-To-Bid
Description	Request for Qualifications (RFQ) will be received from Engineering Consulting Firms by the City of Shawnee, hereinafter referred to as the "Owner", until 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 18, 2024.  The submittals received will be reviewed for the design of the Shawnee Mission Parkway – I-435 to K-7.  Engineering Consulting Firms must have an office within the Kansas City Metropolitan Area and be familiar with the City of Shawnee.  Bidders will be notified of the results within fourteen (14) business days of the date set above to be received.  The Contract shall be awarded by the Governing Body of the Owner at the sole and complete discretion of such Governing Body.  The City of Shawnee reserves the right to reject any or all of the proposal submittals and to waive informalities or irregularities of the submittals. In general, the project will consist of the following: development of concept plans, preliminary and final plans and contract documents, engineering services during bidding time, and engineering during construction.  Construction inspection services are not a requirement for submitting and/or the selected firms. The work associated with the concept plans will include the evaluation of the local drainage within the project area, including any pipe video the City may have to review pipe condition and/or obtaining CCTV inspection, traffic counts and signal warrant analysis at Shawnee Mission Parkway and Vista Drive, the addition of a southbound right turn lane at Shawnee Mission Parkway and Woodland Drive, and inspection of the condition of the shoulders along the project length. The work associated with the construction items include mill and overlay, storm sewer improvements, installation of a signal at Vista Drive (if needed), removal/replacement of guardrails, removal/replacement of storm gauge at Mill Creek, removal/replacement of shoulders/curb and sidewalk as needed, ADA upgrades, signing, and pavement markings.
