All components shall have2been designed to achieve optimum physical andperformance compatibility and prototype testedto prove integrated design capability. Thecomplete system shall have been factoryfabricated, assembled, and production tested.The naming of a specific manufacturer does notwaive any requirements of this specification.__________________Responsibility:The responsibility for performance to thisspecification shall not be divided among individualcomponent manufacturers, but must be assumedsolely by the primary manufacturer. This includesgenerating system design, manufacture, test, andhaving a local supplier responsible for service,parts, and warranty for the total system.Minimum Service & Warranty Qualifications:The manufacturer shall have a local authorizeddealer who can provide factory-trained servicemen,the required stock of replacement parts, technicalassistance, and warranty administration.The engine-generator supplier shall maintain24-hour parts and service capability within100 miles of the project site. The distributor shallstock parts as needed to support the generator setpackage for this specific project. The supplier mustcarry sufficient inventory to cover no less than 80%parts service within 24hrs and 95% within 48 hours.______________________________________________________Warranty Terms:The manufacturer’s and dealer’s extended warrantyshall in no event be for a period of less than two (2)years from date of initial start-up of the system andshall include repair parts, labor, reasonable travelexpense necessary for repairs at the jobsite, andexpendables (lubricating oil, filters, antifreeze, andother service items made unusable by the defect)used during the course of repair.___________________3Submittals received without written warranties asspecified will be rejected in their entirety.___________________Maintenance & Spare Parts:The system manufacturer’s authorized dealershall furnish the owner’s engineer with a copy ofany contract maintenance agreement negotiatedrelative to the equipment specified in this section.The contract information shall detail agreedmaintenance intervals, work to be performed at eachinterval, reimbursement schedule for maintenancework, and owner’s responsibilities versusdealer’s responsibilities.___________________Provide a priced listing of all recommended spareparts with the bid package.___________________Start-up & Training:Furnish the services of a factory-authorizedservice representative to verify the installation ofthe generator and transfer switch and, instruct theOwner’s personnel in the operation, maintenance,and adjustment of the generator and relatedequipment.
