The North Charleston Sewer District is seeking to retain a qualified engineering firm to provide a design for the replacement of timber pipe support structures of an aerial sanitary sewer gravity main. There is a mandatory pre-bid meeting and site visit scheduled at 10:00 AM local time on December 1, 2025, at Filbin Creek Bridge on Attaway St. North Charleston, SC 29405 (32°53’32.6″N 80°00’02.8″W). Submissions will be accepted until 2:00 PM local time on December 30, 2025, at which time all respondents to this request will be publicly identified at the NCSD Administrative Offices, 7225 Stall Road, North Charleston. No information will be released other than the name of the respondents at the opening. All documents related to this project may be obtained here . North Charleston Sewer District reserves the right to reject any and all offers.

NORTH CHARLESTON SEWER DISTRICTREQUEST FOR STATEMENTS OF QUALIFICATIONSNCSD CIP# 2643000-Engineering for Pipe Supports forSGM-04718PROJECT PURPOSE AND GOALThe North Charleston Sewer District is seeking to retain a qualified engineering firm to provide a designfor the replacement of timber pipe support structures of an aerial sanitary sewer gravity main.BACKGROUNDThe District is a publicly owned utility created in 1972 by an act of the South Carolina State Legislature,governed by a Board of Commissioners that provides retail and wholesale wastewater service toapproximately 34,000 customers in the City of North Charleston and nearby communities, with a servicearea of approximately 60 square miles.The gravity main (SGM-04718) is a 12-inch cast iron pipe (CIP), that was constructed in 1968. Thetimber pipe support structures are in poor structural condition and in need of replacement.SCOPE OF WORKCurrently, there are eight (8) support structures over "dry" land, and three (3) support structures over FilbinCreek, supporting the 12-inch CIP. The span over Filbin Creek is approximately 20 feet in width. Existing pipepile supports consist of: 14"x14" timber bent caps four feet in length, with 8"x12" blocking, and two (2) 25-foot10 T timber piles per support.
