The bids are for a single Prime Contract (civil, general, mechanical, and electrical combined) for the renovation of student and public restrooms and locker room remodel and renovations. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis; segregated sub-bids will not be accepted. Awards of Contract is anticipated to commence on or about April 27, 2026. The work may begin immediately following execution of the agreement. Phase 1 is scheduled to be completed by August 7, 2026 and Phase 2 is scheduled to be complete by July 30, 2027.

The successful bidder will be required to providesurety Performance and Payment Bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) ofthe Contract Sum.L. Interested bidders shall submit a completed Bidder’s Status Form (See Section 00 60 00 -Project Forms for a copy of this form) at the time of Bid.M. Nonresident bidders shall comply with Iowa Code Section 73A.21, subsection 4.N. In accordance with, Chapter 73A, Code of Iowa, when a contract for a public improvement is tobe awarded to the lowest responsible bidder, a resident bidder shall be allowed a preference asagainst a nonresident bidder from a state or foreign country if that state or foreign country givesor requires any preference to bidders from that state or foreign country, including but not limitedto any preference to bidders, the imposition of any type of labor force preference, or any otherform of preferential treatment to bidders or laborers from that state or foreign country. Thepreference allowed shall be equal to the preference given or required by the state or foreigncountry in which the nonresident bidder is a resident. In the instance of a resident labor forcepreference, a nonresident bidder shall apply the same resident labor force preference to apublic improvement in this state as would be required in the construction of a publicimprovement by the state or foreign country in which the nonresident bidder is a resident. Inaccordance with Chapter 156, Iowa Administrative Code the public body shall request astatement from each bidder regarding the bidder’s resident status. The statement shall be onthe form designated by the commissioner. The statement shall require the bidder to certifywhether the bidder is a resident bidder or a nonresident bidder. In the case of a resident bidder,the statement shall require the resident bidder to identify each office at which the residentbidder has conducted business in the state during the previous three years and the dates onwhich the resident bidder conducted business at each office. In the case of a nonresidentbidder, the statement shall require the nonresident bidder to identify the nonresident bidder’shome state or foreign country as reported to the Iowa secretary of state, to identify eachpreference offered by the nonresident bidder’s home state or foreign country, and to certify that,except as set forth on the form, there are no other preferences offered by the nonresidentbidder’s home state or foreign country.O. The award of the contract may be made by Waukee Community School District to anyresponsible bidder or bidders offering suitable supplies, equipment and/or service at the lowestprice taking into consideration the quality of materials or service in the best interest of theOwner. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids, or any part thereof, and to waiveinformalities as allowed by law and to enter into such contract or contracts as shall be deemedin the best interest of the Owner.P.
